i mean all aspects of jig fishing; flippin, pitchin, draggin, etc.

10 to 12, 15 if the jig is heavy.

I'm a finesse guy....so I'm 10 or 12 pound fluoro on jigs. I also fish a lot of clear water and you can step up to 15 pound or heavier but you start getting fewer bites especially from the wiser bigger bass that have been caught before.

I recently tied my 15# FC to a tree and stood back (pitching distance) and gave it a pull. I could not believe the amount of stretch it had. It was like a ruberband. I like FC and am going to order some 15-20 Tatsu but until then I spooled up 50# braid.

On a side note with the 0 stretch the braid has the hits will about rip the rod from your hand! :respect-059:

And it doesn't want to backlash or get loose on the spool while pitching.

12# CXX for small to medium jigs and worms. 15# CXX for heavier jigs/hooks, bigger worms, deeper water, or heavier cover. The actual breaking strength of these lines is much higher than the rating.

It depends. Can't use the same line size for ALL techniques. (i guess you could but I don't) BTW, flippin and pitchin are differet casting techniques and have nothing to do with the type of line you use.

#12 Yozuri around docks. (all water types)

#10 Yozuri in shallow/deep open water. (all water types)

#40 and bigger braid with NO leader for all vegetation. (all water types)

I know you don't mean all aspects, I jig for many different species, I use a butterfly jig with 50# braid, 15-20# braid flipping jigs under SW docks and same line for surf.

For my bass fishing I use 15 # braid and usually a 1/2 oz jig, pretty much covers the type of water I fish.

I seldom use mono or copoly line for anything.

Same for me, except I use mono. Don't like flouro. I find it's disadvantages far outweigh the small advantage provided by the increased density. I have two reels spooled up with 14, the rest are lighter.

This depend so much on where you fish. Most of the lakes I fish now a void of cover except for rocks and clear to very clear. I use 8 to 12# in every thing except braid which I use on my c-rig at 60# plus a leader of either fluoro or mono usually 8 to 12#. If I go somewhere to fish with lots of wood or weedy cover I'll spool with large enough test line to haul fish out of the trash
