Tlaz Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Does anyone use a rod holder system for the inside of their SUV roof? Looking for ideas or a good product. Rods are a little too long to rest in cargo area without the tips hitting the roof and keeping the rods curved. Curious if anyone has a good system for this. Tom Quote
Super User tomustang Posted April 11, 2012 Super User Posted April 11, 2012 Depends on the vehicle, if it's a large mainstream SUV like a surburban they have kits that'll fit better, for small SUV's you're left out for the most part. I've made my own, for under $10 with typical items http://www.bassresou...suv-rod-holder/ Quote
Tlaz Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 Yeah I have a 2002 Toyota 4Runner. Need to try to make something I guess. Thanks Quote
MrSwimJig Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Trying to find one for a small SUV is darn near impossible, much easier if you have large style SUV. If you find something I would be interested to see it. Finding something for a Jeep Liberty is impossible! Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 12, 2012 Super User Posted April 12, 2012 I've got one. I've got a 98 Explorer Sport, which is the 2 door, short wheel base SUV. Rod Saver makes it. It can be adapted to fit overhead on any SUV or station wagon. It is sized to hold 8 or 12 rods, I don't remember which but you can fit more rods on to it. I usually put 20 on mine. (edit) I just went to the Rod Saver website and looked it up. It is called a vehicle rod carrier. I'll bet it is just what you're looking for. I got mine at a local tackle store but it seems to me I've seen them at BPS as well. Quote
jkarol24 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I use the "BoatBuckle Rod Bunk Vehicle Rod Carrier" in my jeep cherokee, works great! Sorry, link wont work but can be found at TW under accessories, then rod storage... Quote
