jp713 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 i was wondering if anyone has made an injector? i want to make my own but not really sure where to start. if some has made one and would like to help me with what materials i need. it would be much appreciated. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 10, 2012 Super User Posted April 10, 2012 I have made several of them from cathetor injectors that I get from my vet. A compression fitting around the brass tube is necessary for a good job. Quote
WCCT Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Be very careful that the material you use can handle the heat of the plastic. If not, it won't be pretty. Quote
jp713 Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 well i guess the one i made wasnt thick or strong enough. it busted on me.i always have gloves on too but for some reason i didnt last night my own stupidity Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 12, 2012 Super User Posted April 12, 2012 My home made ones sometimes develop a weak spot after about 20 uses. When I see a color change in the material, I toss it in the trash and pull out a new one as they only cost a couple of bones to build. Quote

Sorry to see that. I've been there so I know your pain. To me, it is very much worth the investment of getting good injectors from one of the guys like Bears, Basstackle or Del. I think Lurecraft even sells them now. Well worth the money. Quote
