BassinNY Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Wind over 15 mph. Unfortunately, it's going to be more than that all week. Quote
dumfish Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Prefer not to fish in tuff weather patterns, but I'm a bass angler and love a challenge so bring it on. Quote
outdoorsman110 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Clear days with no clouds out. I hate it. I prefer overcast, snow, rain. Quote
Bass78 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I like fishing in the wind. When it is 5-15 mph.... pick up a spinnerbait and go to work. I have caught some of my best fish in the wind. Now if it blows any harder than that you spend more time on the trolling motor than fishing. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 15 to 20mph no problem with a wind sock(anything over sucks). I dont like getting caught in thunderstorms...thats about it. Quote
tholmes Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Being in the Midwest, all y'all are spoiled. If it's blowing less than 20, it's a light wind. I don't consider it rough until it gets to the 30-35 mark. My least favorite thing to fish in is freezing ran. It makes the boat deck slick and hurts when it hits your face. I don't mind cold, raid, snow, wind, heat, anything but freezing rain. This^ Living in Kansas for most of my life, I can handle wind. I don't even think about it unless it hits 30 mph. But the combination of cold and wet will have me heading for home in a heartbeat. Tom Quote
jignfule Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 My favorite spot is in a canyon and the wind blows 90% of the time. I also fish on very small crafts and most all wind 10mph + is a real pain. A pain I deal with most of the time. Quote

You can dress for the other conditions, but boat control goes out the window in strong winds. And the boat ride back is no fun either! http://fishingbw.com/
