Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 8, 2012 Super User Posted April 8, 2012 Congrats to Bubba. Gotta pull for another Alabama man. That was an awesome final hole. I cant believe he came back from outta the woods and won it. As for the jacket, I think I liked the gold jacket from Happy Gilmore better than the green ones. Quote
preach4bass Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I love the fact that a guy named Bubba won the biggest golf tournament in the world. That's more redneck than any name to ever win the Bassmaster Classic! Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 9, 2012 Author Super User Posted April 9, 2012 I had that same thought. Doesn't sound much like a golfers name does it. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 The second shot on the second playoff hole he hit was nothing short of miraculous. He is a very deserving champion and I hope this propels him to greater achievements in his career. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted April 9, 2012 Super User Posted April 9, 2012 I'm just glad the dang tournament is over. Now I can get all these old, rich, non driving fools out of my town. Quote
Quillback Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Yes congrats to Bubba (I can't believe someone would name their kid "Bubba", even someone from Alabama). I was hoping Mickelson would pull it off, but if not him at least it wasn't won by a foreigner. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 9, 2012 Super User Posted April 9, 2012 Great accomplishment, but it will be the runner up whose name and best shot will be repeated for more years than the winner's. Quote

Super User Sam Posted April 9, 2012 Super User Posted April 9, 2012 Quillback, everyone in Alabama is named Bubba. Most everyone goes by a nickname, like Mike, Joe, Bob, Mark........ Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 10, 2012 Super User Posted April 10, 2012 You sound like a Cape Codder between the Fourth of July and Labor Day. The only difference is the old rich non driving fools are the Cape Codders who resent the intrusion of younger families disturbing the tranquility of the Cape. We have the same thing here and it 's been a discussion on a local forum. We have a lot of snowbirds, most come from a section of the country where people are not as laid back as the locals. It's always nice when they leave, traffic gets back to normal, restaurants are not as crowded, and the overall serenity has returned for 8 months. Quote
