Opinion On Major League Fishing ?

I have watched it a few times now and think the format is great. I prefere to watch this over a plain old tourney style show. That part about real time updates on the others success is awesome. To me this style of fishing really shows who can adapt with no practice and I also like the fact they are fishing out of smaller boats.

I like the show after seeing 2 rounds as well and like the format with the real time updates and no practice as well and actually having to put something together and find fish in the 2.5 hour period. I also like the smaller boats format as well.

i really like it.

it does a great job of showing the fishing skills the pros have. i like seeing the way they react to the leader board changing

on the other hand,i like the old 5-fish format also. cool to see the strategies that take alot of time to play out like trying 1.5hrs to catch 1 fat bedded bass.

Having paid and seen the entire show already its a great format I haven't watched it on outdoor yet to see how they compare tho...

I enjoyed it as well.

I'd like to see them play around with the format even more like - requiring the anglers to use a certain test line for each period or restricting the use of braid or having a hard bait only period or a soft bait only period or a topwater perioid.

You get the idea - really mix it up so the anglers never know what's coming and really have to be prepared for anything and everything.

One thing I'd really like to see implemented is to allow the anglers to use a net if they want to - the falling all over the boat deal to land a fish is getting old.

PROS:

I liked the format.... at first. It kind of broke down for me some when the whole field started dink hunting. The later episodes I just wanted to fast forward and watch the last period where there was some excitement. I found myself wanting them to stop chasing the schools of 1 to 2 lb fish and start culling. Would have liked to see a minimum weight to score for one of the rounds to see some guys going for bigger fish.

I liked the real time leader board. Awesome watching it get into the heads of the anglers.

I liked the no practice or waypoints aspect. Was great seeing the anglers fish from their skill and experience.

CONS:

I didn't like the constant repeating of the praises of the new format and the real time scoring, as it started to feel like watching Roland Martin trying to sell a new tournament format.

I didn't like all of the profanity and tantrums from a few of the anglers. Even though it was bleeped out most of the time, I found myself having to turn it off and wait til my 6yr old wasn't around to watch it. I couldn't believe how they were allowing the anglers to carry on. If they want to have a "major league" caliber of event they need to have the participants act like professionals. Professional athletes get thrown out of games for flying off the handle, why should professional fisherman get attention for it?

seems like during the show they try to keep the camera off of the lure being used, gets aggravating, i would really like to know what they are using, guess i will have to get on the internet and look it up while watching it.

i do like the show a lot though, its the only show i look forward to watching every week

You can't read lips can you? It's perspective other athletes are not mic'd up to compare too But i can tell you baseball and hockey(I watch these most) are constantly cursing..

Basketball is the same way and I don't mind seeing them catching dinks cause it adds to the weight and in my area 6,7 & 8 lb fish are rare so any legal fish in the boat is enjoyable to see for me.

It's a good show, I do wish they would spend less time showing the announcers talking about the standings, the standings are easy to understand, no need to give a detailed description every 5 minutes.

Agreed. To add to this, I would have liked them to use more time focusing on all of the anglers, not choosing who would be the most entertaining and give them a camera crew while, while others are left out.

Yeah I would always fast forward through Marty Stones rambling about the same stuff every show. Other than that I like it alot. I paused and zoomed in on KVD fishing the jerkbait and it was a megabass vision 110 not a strike king jerkbait..
