Super User smalljaw67 Posted April 7, 2012 Super User Posted April 7, 2012 BPS pro qualifier, bass tackle depot has the new Quantum Kinetic on sale for 80 dollars which is a very good reel, look to see if the Citica E from Shimano is around, those are now discontinued but leftovers are in your price range. Super User LgMouthGambler Posted April 7, 2012 Super User Posted April 7, 2012 Pro Qualifier is it, unless you are willing to shell out another $50 0n top of that $100. That Pro Qual is an amazing reel though, I love mine. Quote
pondassasin Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Citica 200e. See if your local Gander Mt (assuming you live close to one) still has some on clearance for $80. I picked one up a few weeks ago and I know they still have some left. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted April 7, 2012 Super User Posted April 7, 2012 I have three BPS Pro Qualifier reels that between me and my wife get a lot of use. They have worked flawlessly since day one. At that price range they are a very good value in my opinion. Quote
msolorio Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 lews speed spool. awesome reels. im gettin a pq this weekend to see what all the fuss is about lol Quote
freebie Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 basspro has the johnny morris carbon black originals on closeout for 89 right now. thats a pretty sweet deal Quote
endless Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I would say if can get the Citica with the $30 off jumped on it if not and want the PQ get it, I love mine. If can and what to spend a little more get a Curado E. Amazing reel. I got a PQ in 7.1:1 and a Curado 200E5 in 5.0:1. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 8, 2012 Super User Posted April 8, 2012 Lew's SS Citica 200E Quote
Stasher1 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I was at Dick's yesterday and they still had a few Citica 200E in stock for $79.99 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted April 8, 2012 Global Moderator Posted April 8, 2012 basspro has the johnny morris carbon black originals on closeout for 89 right now. thats a pretty sweet deal I got one of those at thier spring sale and you're right that is a one smooth reel. I was thinking about getting a PQ because of all the comments about it I've been reading here, but I do love that carbon black...Hmmm Mike Quote
BigMoneyGrip Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Another vote for the Pro Qualifier. I iust got one in the 7.1 ratio and I really like it. It reminds me of my Citica. They're even better when they're on sale for $80. Quote
nvhsaccel Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Yet another vote for the pro qualifier! I love my 6:4.1! Quote
Grumpy413 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I have to say I love my pro qualifiers... don't seem to use my old green reels any more. Quote
bwell Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I have to say Pro Qualifier also... Great all around reel for the price. Quote
BassAssassin85 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 i don't know if they are still on sale but the pt quantum's were at bps for around 129 and that is a sweet reel have one and I've also owned a pro qualifier but took it back and got the pt and was more impressed but there is a difference in price. Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 9, 2012 Super User Posted April 9, 2012 Been fishing my pro qualifier for three years now and it still works flawlessly. Quote
Jake P Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Low end of your budget the Abu garcia pro max is a great reel and i love it at 80$. I would go with the PQ though. Quote
Bass23 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Bass pro shops pro qualifiers can't be beat in that price range. I have them in all the gear ratios and have never had any problems. Quote
