Super User LgMouthGambler Posted April 7, 2012 Super User Posted April 7, 2012 Fire Fighter Olympics Tournament out of Clewiston the 17-18 of this month. Does anybody have any advice on what the bass are doing out there now? Is West Wall and Coot Bay still productive? Are they in the flats? Are they in the channels? What presentations seem to get their attention now? All advice greatly appreciated. Quote
evrgladesbasser Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 The area you fish is heavily dependent on wind direction for the particular day. I was up there last week, there was a good topwater bite all day long near observation shoal. Big fish still coming from flipping if you can stand that sort of thing. I'll see you up there look for me in the white and blue Stratos w/ 150merc. Tom Quote
Triton Bob Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Interesting they are having this in the middle of the month. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted April 10, 2012 Super User Posted April 10, 2012 I find that prefishing myself is the best formula for tournament success. No substitute for time on the water. Quote
gar-tracker Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I find that prefishing myself is the best formula for tournament success. No substitute for time on the water. BINGO!!! Do the foundation savers let police in or is it just FF? Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Frog of your choice, Gambler swimbait and ugly otter. Medlock double guard jig. Monkey box, west wall.Good luck! Quote
piscicidal Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Jeremy, I fished Okeechobee yesterday...the fish definitely are in a post-spawn/pre-summer stage. You gotta move around a little bit to find the fish, but when you do find them you'll know it. I had about a 9lb bag at 1:00. By 2:30, I had a 26lb bag. I had a "Ish" moment there, yesterday, with back-to-back 5lbers flipping the 1oz jig. Caught seven fish between 1:30 and 2:30 and the smallest was 4lbs. here's the two biggest...5.70 and 5.85. Pictures are at odd angle...taken with a cell phone. Forgot my SD card for my camera, but you get the idea. Quote

chobee Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Try prefishing like most people do, nothing like tow. gar-tracker that's funny and no they don't let the d-nut boys fish. We always hold the FF games in the middle of the week along with the monthy FF tour and they will let non FF's fish as long as you fish with one.70 boats as yesterday Quote
