...purchasing one tomorrow or early next week.

Already know which way I'm leaning. I was just curious from those of you who have both which you prefer. And what the advantages are for each. I know the 50 is a little more compact and has a few more bearings...both have roughly the same spool size.

The only reason I'm hesitant at all is I'm wondering if the 100 size Core would stand up to more abuse (from the fish I'm very easy on my tackle) ie...hook sets fighting, etc...and wondering if the 100 would be more versatile with allowing me to fish a wider variety of bait sizes. I know the 50mg is designed for finesse, but Tackletour (don't know why I even read anything off that lame ass site) said that when they tested the core 100 back in 2007 it casted light baits as well as the steez...and I have used a Steez and it was impressive when casting light baits.

So if the 50 won't cast further I'm getting the 100...if, however, the 50 will cast and pitch further with baits under 1/4 ounce them I'm at a crossroads but probably leaning towards the 50.

Any valuable input from people who own both reels would be appreciated....please don't compare it to the Diawas reels or anything like that I already know I'm getting a core just a little fickle on which one suits my style best, and if either is more durable or refined.

Thanks.

They're pretty much the same in terms of casting distance. Primary difference lies in line handling, for me. The 51 handles light line a little better. The 50+51 are smoother, as well, because of the inclusion of bearings in the handles. Though, on the 100 and 101 you can add bearings to the handle and they smoothe out just the same. In real world terms, no difference between them.

Just my preference, go with the 50's. They just feel better, and line capacity hasn't been an issue for bass fishing.

I would get one of each! Honestly they feel pretty much the same other then I think the 50 feels slightly smoother plus I think it feels a little more solid in my hands ( if that makes sense ). I prefer the smaller reels for pitching cause there more comfortable in my hands. I've used the 50 to pull some big fish out of some pretty thick junk, no reason to think that its only for finesse :)

I have the 50, which I love, and have fished with RW's 100. They feel about the same to me, except I can palm the 50 better, and would lean towards it more. They throw smaller baits about the same, so straight out of the boax, go with the 50. JMO

I was leaning towards a 50 because of the extra bearings...but wanted to be sure it could handle large bass and didn't feel underpowered if I threw medium size baits with it...sounds like it passes the test on those two issues.

Going with the 51. Thanks guys for the input.
