Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Spyder, this gonna be the year you give 'em a shot? I've never put anybody onto Rage baits, and NOT had them catch lunkers on 'em. 1 Quote

He got me on Rage Baits and I haven't even used them yet , but judging by Shane's pics I can assume they catch big fish . 1 Quote
jsc4324 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Shane got me on them as well. All I can say is hang on. Bass crush these things. I couldn't believe it the first time I used them. 1 Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 They definitely catch fish. Even if the lake is frozen over and you have to break ice to fish them like I did last Nov. They catch big fish too like last Nov. 1 Quote
Spyder Bass Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 with all the hype and the pics i see in here caught with them i guess i'm going to have to try them now lol. any colors i should get that do better than others. Quote
bobh64 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 my luck has been with Bama bug, pb&j and black with blue neon. I also use them as trailers and as texas rigged. weightless to 3/4 ounces to punch through grass and weeds. I keep it simple. 3 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 To be completely honest, I could fish 3 colors forever, and be fine. Falcon Lake Craw, Green Pumpkin/purple gold, and Blue Craw. 2 Quote
MikeOGNR Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I mean I bought basically every color they had at bass pro haha. 1 Quote
YungAngler Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I picked up some Shellcrackers in Hard Candy. Have used the craws quite a bit last season, but have yet to test any other Rage baits. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 Hard Candy is pretty yummy. I like that color Shellcracker, Craw, or Baby Craw on a bluegill swim jig. Quote
DevilDoc Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Best Luck I had was the Chistmas Tree colored ones. Love em! 1 Quote
YungAngler Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hard Candy is pretty yummy. I like that color Shellcracker, Craw, or Baby Craw on a bluegill swim jig. How well do they work T-rigged? Any tips for rigging? Saw a bunch of diagrams on the Rage site for other baits, but nothing for the Shellcracker. I love the look and feels of these plastics. Can't wait to try them out. Quote

Super User deaknh03 Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 Love the shellcracker.. on the back of a swimjig or keel weighted, both great presentations. Be careful rigging them as if your hook is too small you will tear it up. If I remember I use a 6/0 for the keel weighted presentation. 1 Quote
YungAngler Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 how important is it to remove that belly fin? i gotta get some bigger hooks for sure. i don't think i even have a 6/0 in my tacklebox. Quote
nhbassin Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hard Candy is pretty yummy. I like that color Shellcracker, Craw, or Baby Craw on a bluegill swim jig. Got two largemouth over 6 pounds last fall on a bluegill swim jig with rage craw trailer. That was my go-to bait last year, and will likley continue to be at the top of my list this season too. 2 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 21, 2014 Super User Posted March 21, 2014 Yeah, buddy! The swim jig/craw is a staple in my arsenal. Oh, and keel weighted is the way I like the shell cracker the best. You do not have to cut that belly fin, and yes, a 6/0 is a little better if you ask me. 5/0 is fine when you rig it sideways for flippin it, but I feel hookup percentages go up with a 6/0 when swimming on a rage rig. clr9933 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Anyone have any experience with the Rage "twin tail menace?" The appendages on it look a bit different than some of the other Ragetail plastics, wondering how the action is on it... I like the look, sleek and compact, looks like it would go through thick stuff nicely. Quote

Super User Shane J Posted March 22, 2014 Super User Posted March 22, 2014 And, buddy, flip that thing! With a 1/2oz weight, that thing will flat out catch 'em when flipped in the heavy stuff! 1 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Who wanted the free Ugly Stick ? My buddy has a new job at the big place in Maine, and just gave me 4 set ups I wont be using this one any more. You would have to pick it up in Nashua or Concord area. I can hold it for awhile. Quote
