I have added wheels under for easier loading, lowered it , added guide posts that screw on and off of the metal fenders, new tires , and added width to walk down the trailer , also to ease in loading. also painted safety orange.  I really dont want to sell the trailer but as a package $900   life jackets, paddles and anchors included with package. The wheels in the boat are a 4 x 4 with 20 inch bicycle tires and hooks, i use it to transport the boat around my yard as well as to pull it by myself to get it into some water i cannot get to with the truck and trailer.   Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Actually, Booey, My wife so conveniently figured out for me, that for the last 5 years at least, I have spent over $2000 a year on fishing stuff. That comes out to about $166/ mo, so you're ok, buddy! What she don't know, though, is that I also spend quite a bit of my stash "pocket money" on fishing, too, especially in the area of reel upgrades and cleanings, that she doesn't know about. Hahaaa! Â Anyway, I think those boxes are cool for most bass guys, and definitely worth the subscription price. Â Ps- good luck with your sale, Nev. Somebody could do a lotta fishin' outta that Ole gal! It's better than my first $500 boat. 2 Quote

Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Satellite shot of a partially melted lake, or just a frozen puddle in my driveway? Ok, maybe I'm just daydreaming too much now. If that were a lake, though, I'd be all over those channel swings and rocky points!! Come on iceout!!! Can't take much more of this! Â 1 Quote
YungAngler Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Temp in my truck said 26 this AM but it felt much warmer. Those spring rays are doing their job. Tomorrow should be the warmest its been in awhile around here. Should be wetting our lines soon!! Quote

YungAngler Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Fishing Fest at the Kittery Trading Post Thurs-Sun this week. Big Shimano sale 30-50% off. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 i have caught a lot of fish in this boat and had a lot of fun.  I have a deep v 16 footer with a 25 hp motor on a trailer and a complete flat deck , my 12 ft canoe all rigged up and , my kayak.   when this goes i am getting a bigger , wider version flat bottom. --- everything has come used sales. luckily i have mechanical ability to be able to fix things. thru trading and using craigslist and ebay etc. i still dont have $2500 into all the boats combined. the 25 hp motor i picked up for $50 last year.  it needed an impeller. it was completely apart. I did try to get an old Johnson 5 hp fixed at a place down here but after giving them $200+ and still having it not work correctly , i learned i can do almost all of it myself. I just had to learn a little more about them. The library has a ton of stuff and of course the internet and youtube. Quote

Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Nice, man! Thanks for the heads up. I'm fishing Saturday, but might be able to make it up on Sunday. If they're gonna have reps there, I might bring the Cumara that I snapped, and try to get it replaced without the hassle of shipping it in. Appreciate the info, bro! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Oh yeah, and guys, I'll do a Rage prize pack for our first month of competition here. If I win, it'll go to the runner up. Did we decide on Northeast, or New England? 2 Quote
nhbassin Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Soon now, boys. Very soon (check the date)!  Me and CLR9933 saw you out on the water this day. That was when we had back to back 80+ degree days in March. I can only dream for that kind of weather right now. 2 Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Its going to be another month before any of the waters I fish in Maine or Vermont are ice free. I am going Pike fishing on Champlain this weekend and will be driving the truck out on the ice. I might have to make a couple road trips this April to find some fishable water or find a local river or two. Shane where are you fishing ? 1 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Aw, that's right, nhbassin! Good memory. I'd love to have that weather right now!! Â I know, it'll probably be a month here, too, mainebass, we still have 24" of ice. Anyway, I'm gonna hit the river this weekend if you wanna come down. Got some Rage Tail swimbaits I just gotta try out! 1 Quote

The smallest Pike I caught was 30 inches most were around 33-34 inches. The biggest was 38 inches, 14 lbs 2 oz. I posted the pics on face book and all of a sudden everyone wants me to take them pike fishing. Weird ? 3 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Haha! Tell 'em guides ain't cheap! That does sound like fun fishing, though. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Merrimack is wide open down here , I have not been up to Concord in a week or so , Is it still frozen past Manchester? except at the Powerplant?  I am in the water sat and sunday mornings this week down here,  playing hockey this time of year every morning except on weekends.  as it warms up i drop hockey to fish on mon and wed mornings and only play 3 games a week. Nashua river is open from below the stellos dam all the way to the Merrimack river. from the dam to the mass border is still iced over. i will probably fish the lower part from margaritas after the dam to the merr river one of the days.  My son and i are going to hit the CT river and try to each catch some big pike. he is going to take my canoe and i am going to use my kayak. Mainebass1984 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Haha! Tell 'em guides ain't cheap! That does sound like fun fishing, though.  It is fun fishing. Your allowed 15 tip ups each on Lake Champlain. There are times when you will have 5 or 6 flags at once. You don't sit down all day. I would much rather be bass fishing in my boat though. You are right guides aren't cheap. It basically is a guided trip. We are using all my gear and my truck. All my friends have to do is wake up and pay for half the bait and split gas.  So what would a guide charge around 350 dollars a day ? Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 Well, yeah! Nothing you can do on ice, with the exception of J.D. and Coke, is as fun as bass fishing from a boat! Oh, and bass guides get $500/day, $800 for two people/day. That covers gas, equipment rentals if needed, baits and lures, and the guides services. That gets paid, even if they get skunked! 1 Quote
