I caught my one and only keeper off my dads dock(lives on the bellemy, the salt part) after 5 years of trying to catch one and i wasn't even fishing for them. I was using a little spoon to catch baitfish and it most of thought it was a bait fish.

Oh haha, stupid iphone post. I just caught that lol, never been to tens but if you ever make it out to fort campbell ky, i know where you can find a few keepers

I know two things about Kentucky. First, the girls' accents are really sexy. Second, Corn Hole is like the main sport. I like it down there.

Different subject what the deepest on a NH lake you have caught bass? Drop shotting @40 ft for smallmouth on Winni for me.

I actually have never fished for bass deep. I don't even know how to drop shot.

I'm with Phauren, never fished deep because I don't know how..... I do want to learn and try drop shot this year. Maybe someone could show me this year if the ice ever goes out!

Anyone got any pointers for fishing deep? What do you classify deep as in NH?

Posted

Reason I got into jigging is so I can expand offshore with a bait made for bottom fishing. Hopefully I can land some hogs this summer moving into deeper structure and cover this year.

I will be honest deep fishing is not my go to fishing style but I can't be ignorant to the fact that some very big tournaments are now being won in this fashion. NH has some awesome lakes that support the depths. I believe some very big fish will be caught this year using this method.

It's not just that moving deep produces more large fish, but it's just getting of the shore. If you move of the shore 30 yards for example and there is submerged grass or something and its maybe a foot deeper or the same depth for that matter, it's just that more people are beating the banks and you may run into some good numbers and good size off shore... Not always the case, my 2nd biggest bass at 5# 11oz came right on shore and my PB 6# 5oz came offshore. It also depends on the techniques your using and what type of cover/ structure your trying to pull bass from...

Hey guys

I was just looking online to see if the list of tournaments for NH has been posted.  I m very excited for the large tournaments on Winni this year. I'm hoping to get out as a co-angler for some of the tournaments.  I hope to see some of you guys later on in the year.

Bow Lake seems like a good place to try fishing deep.

Fishing "deep" in NH, Relative term, but I can tell you this. Fishing off shore, and where others are less likely to fish, is your best bet to find where the biggest fish in the lake actually live, and spend most of the year, and most of their time. The biggest fish, have places where they can eat loads of bait fish, and still have the sanctuary of deeper haunts that provide protection. When you find these places, dragging a jig, is often your best bet to land a slob.

Hopefully this year I can really get into some ponds and lakes around here and try to figure them out well. I just gotta find a good place around here. I feel as though Pratt pond might be a good option in Mason, NH everyone I have heard that goes there doesn't go offshore to much. I will be fishing the Nashua River a lot this year as well now that I have a good fuel efficient car to get down there.

Not going to lie I kind of want to make a redneck floating chair/raft and float down the lamprey river starting in raymond.

Thanks for posting this, there's a lot going on here.  For the people who were talking a while back about finding and joining a NH bass club this link should be helpful.  Last year I joined a club in VT because I'm going to school there and the way I did it was by calling every single club I could find and leaving them a message hoping that they might get back to me...  It took a little while to hear back from any clubs but I eventually did and ended up having some of my best days ever fishing from the back of the boat in the little club tournaments. If you're debating joining a club at all you should just try it, you wont regret it!

I've been looking into joining a club but I'm in a tough spot. I'm under 18 however I want to avoid fishing out of the back of the boat as much as possible because I have my father's boat to bring. I've talked to a few clubs and none of them were clear on how legal it is for me to drive even though I have all the insurance and licenses.

"Who Wants In" is going to start back up in April, for those of you who didn't compete last year please consider!

I think we had three months worth of competition last year, here's what it is for those are want to compete this year http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/124375-who-wants-in-september/

I'm thinking about holding it just to New England this year instead of the Northeast... Still thinking about it, but am excited to get it under way again!

so I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the new Bass Pro Shop been up there 3 times looking for a pro qualifier 6.4 right hand retrieve and they've been out of stock every time I even called the last time and they told me they have some in stock and didn't just disappointing

That has to be frustrating but don't be too hard on them yet, I'm sure they've been slammed since the doors opened. I love the pro qualifier casting reels, I've kind of narrowed down the reels I'm buying to those ones. I've had one of mine for several years now and the level-wind finally started getting a little screwy so I sent it to BPS and they fixed it for free. It was back in my hands ready to go two weeks after I shipped it. Good service.
