EddieC1981 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Caught 3 at NHTI yesterday. Great action. Literally walked straight into my spot. though I found I need some boots (wicked muddy) but yea good action with worms. Then I worked the spot right to the left of the one I started and caught 1 there. Went to the Merrimack around sundown (first time fishing it so I had to mess around to see what worked. I ended up getting one small smallie (my first in over a decade) But overall a successful day. Nev that spot on the Merrimack is right down the street from my house so that'll be a nice quick spot. Just gotta learn how to fish a river and what to use. Suggestions? Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Hit up Otter Lake today with my son and it was windy as hell. No smallies at all today which really surprises me, but I got skunked and my son caught two LMB all just under 2 lbs in 3 hours. All on 5" senkos. Gonna head out early tomorrow with him again and see if we can do better. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 Got out with my son today for a few hours and caught 10 LMB total most all were over 1.5 pounds. My son caught a 4lbs even and two over 3lbs. Great day all and all. :eyebrows Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 where did you go derek? the wind has been brutal after 10:30 the past few weeks weve been out. best to go early or late(after6pm) Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Anyone fish Lake Massabesic lately? If you have what depth are smallies at now? Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted July 9, 2012 Super User Posted July 9, 2012 I hit Massebesic last Sunday, it was like a tornado, so windy it was actually tough to fish. No smallies, just a couple largemouth, 5' deep or so. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Picked up a new personal best largemouth on Sunday morning in the Nashua river about 6:30am 6lbs 1 oz , twitching a little white rubber mouse in some thick weeds. We also pulled one out at 5lb 4 oz and a Smallie in the same area just a hair over 4. Pictures as soon as i get my son to post them for me. Quote

Honestly I have never caught anything over 2lbs in the river. What part of the river did you catch it? Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 directly off the stellos launch in the thick weeds Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 http://s1040.photobu... river Stellos/ Nashua river 7/8/12 at the Stellos launch area. Between 6:30 and 7:30 am nothing after that. topwater little white mouse , and Shanes Keel weighted Ragetail craw Quote
CLRinSNH Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Fished Stumpfield yesterday in my club's tourney. 8 boats in our club and there was probably another 8 boats fishing not in the club. Place got hammered but still managed some good fish. 5lbs 3oz was the big one, the other was at least 4.5lbs. Such a good spot all year. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Here is my son's 4 lbs even the other day at otter lake. Yes he catches and releases all by himself. Quote

CLRinSNH Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Nice job. Any smallies there? I've never seen one, its a very shallow area. Great largemouth, tons of pickeral and good crappie. Had a 15" crappie hit a spiderjig last year in 8' of water. There are a couple holes that max out at 18' maybe on the back side but over by the bridge and the stumps its all 8' or less. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 UNH , I have an old 12 foot jonboat with a 1968 Johnson 5 hp gas motor on the back and a small electric troller on the front. If i leave the Stollos Launch to get to the Hollis bridge takes me 1/2 hour at full speed so i dont get too far up the river. Same goes for Massabassic, usually i just make it out to the islands. but, better than no boat and i have no payments. ALSO KNOWN AS PIECED TOGETHER OVER A FEW YEARS CRAIGSLIST SPECIAL Quote

I have a 89 bass tracker 18' in excellent condition I bough a few years ago for 2500 bucks. No payments for me either. If you want to fish sometime let me know. Quote

The Nashua River is one of my favorite places to fish. I've caught tons of Largemouths well over 4lbs many times. My PB for a Largemouth, Pickerel and Crappie came out of the Nashua. Although I fish on the Mass side off of 119 in Groton. Place has crazy large Bass, Pickerel and crappies. I've even caught a Rainbow Trout under the bridge several years back. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 May try massabesic Wednesday AM with my son. He usually does well there. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 Tom have you been to the farm pond lately? Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 went earler this year and got skunked. heard the fish are all dead, but you can give it a try. i still have the number if you need it. water was still low. problems with the d**n suppossedly cause fish kill. anyways, i got these guys last weekend. the lm was 3.4 and the smallie was 1.12. unhbass37 Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Got out to Lake Massabesic today with my son and we only caught 1 small SM and 2 LM. What a waste of a day. Honestly I am not gonna head back there anytime soon. That place is so heavily fished it's ridiculous. Quote

Honestly I am not gonna head back there anytime soon. That place is so heavily fished it's ridiculous. Yup, I live only 10 minutes down the road from it and don't go near it at this time of year. I usually fish the back side near Claire's landing and always do pretty good. Also, you definitely need a boat to fish it. With a boat you can find spots away from all the heavily fished areas. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I have been told that you need to get to the other side of Massabessic to find fish, but i have never been over to that side. My little 12 ft jon boat would take me all day to get there. I usually just fish the weeds and the islands off of the launch area. Usually good for a few each time out. always full of trailers in that lot, bit it is a big place. Quote
