Nashua Nev Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I like Rocky Pond, very quiet and relaxing place over there. easy launch for the canoe if you dont mind getting your feet in a couple inchs of water.  Parking is the problem, I have been asked to leave twice by the Hollis P.D.   It is clearly posted very well that this is parking for Hollis residents only. Both times i was just getting there and starting to unload the canoe when people walked by, It is my belief that they are the ones who called the P.D. P.D. simply asked me if i saw the sign , i said yes. they told me i can be in the water no problems at all, i just cannot park on that road (too narrow) or in in the area that is posted. P.D. was nice. Simply said they received the call and needed to do their job.  It is the only spot i know of to launch at Rocky Pond.  Has anyone fished the area of water across the street form the road that leads to Rocky Pond?  It would be on the left side of the road as you head to the right hand turn to get to Rocky Pond water.  has anyone fish Dunklee? Quote
nhbassin13 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 caught a bunch of fish again today in the rain. biggest of the day was 4.8 lbs. after looking at the picture i should have re weighed it as it looks bigger but oh well scale said 4.8. 1 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted May 11, 2013 Super User Posted May 11, 2013 That's a pretty fish there, bud. Does look a little bigger than 4.8, but hey, whatever it is, it's a good 'un! 1 Quote
jaystraw Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Hey guys nice fish. I got out on Spofford lake yesterday. Caught a lot of big smallmouth and largemouth bass off and near beds. Biggest smallmouth was 4lbs 12 ounces. Biggest largemouth was 5lbs 9 oz. The average size of the fish in that place is incredible. I had a pike on had to be almost 10 pounds...it was crazy. Quote
nhbassin13 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 thanks guys! shane i agree with you, i think it was a five at least. i only weighed it once and did not confirm it on my dads scale. heres one more pic of it and its belly... 1 Quote

On the other hand though I love it there, there is so much to fish and the waters clear plus its close to home I fished most of the big boudler areas in the 5-7ft water range and got some pretty good size fish. I could see fish all around the beds, but no monsters I wanna try up where you guys are fishing on Spofford and Stumpfield. I might give those a try either this week or next Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I'm heading out this afternoon, probably Hunt's in Hancock... Hopefully I'll have some photos to post tonight... Quote
bobh64 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 No fishing today, Going to spent it with my wife for mom's day. But plan to be out the next couple afternoons after work I just might make a trip to Bow to see what it is like. Quote
bobh64 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Has anyone fished Northwood lake? I am thinking of option #2 if the Bow Lake boat ramp is full. It seems Northwood lake has better parking arrangements for boats. Quote
MikeOGNR Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Northwood Lake is my favorite place to fish the boat ramp and parking is phenomenal fishing is fantastic their I have a summer cottage right on the lake and fishing is amazing up there 1 Quote

Looking at the topo looks like the islands at the Southeast and the west side shore area for largemouth? Quote
MikeOGNR Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 There's weeds if you pull out of the boat ramp and go out towards the middle of the lake and go right all the way down youll see it all open up and to your right you'll see the highway running open and there usually a lot of weeds on that shore also if you go down to the left out of the boat ramp all along the shore all the way down there's a boy scout camp that has lots of big rocks good smallmouth fishing down there all in all a lot of the good size fish are close to the docks and fallen timber on shores 1 Quote
mhtranger Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 My brother and I fished at my dad's on Mendums in Barrington today and had a great day with about 30 fish between us. Most were between 1 and 3 lbs. They were not on beds yet but definitely cruising the shore line. Hit just about everything we threw at them. Most coming on Senkos green pumpkin with black fleck. Raining most of the morning so no camera or phone for pics. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Tried Hunt's in Hancock for about an hour then I had enough of the wind... Quote
jaystraw Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Tried Hunt's in Hancock for about an hour then I had enough of the wind... I like Hunts, but it gets a lot of wind. Â I bet yesterday it was just howling there. Â The first time I ever went there, we fished in wind for a bit and caught a few good ones. Â Then we went back to the launch where my buddy fell into the water just trying to get out of the jon boat. Â It was pretty funny, but I cannot seem to get him to go back... Quote
