Got out for a few hours Saturday and Sunday. Nothing big. All between 1and 2#. But still nice to get out. Also dealing with slot of wind in the yak it's difficult. Also got lots of smaller pickerel and a decent yellow perch

First fishing trip of the season failed. I got 100 yards from shore in my jon boat and the trolling motor battery died. There was a bit of a breeze so fishing with a paddle would have been too difficult. I charged it yesterday and charger said it was charged. Must be a bad battery.

Slow day, I associate that with the tough conditions I was faced with (no wind, bluebird-skies etc.).  Hitting Wickwas Lake tomorrow with a buddy.  Hoping to get onto a few of them.

Went out Sunday for a few hours on the kayak.  Got 2 bass, a pickerel and a few bluegill - all on a Rebel Pop-r. Lots of surface activity on the Nashua.

Wickwas Lake was an absolute murder scene.  Motor problems, and a dead trolling motor battery were the two key patterns in today's success.  The bass were keying in on the vibration of two men struggling to paddle across an entire lake with a strong head wind.  In between pauses due to exhaustion, the bass would slam our disheartened souls.  What a day to be a fisherman.

TLDR; Tough day, no fish.

Doing the swimbait thing this year.Picked up a Dobyns swimbait rod and new Abu reel.Threw some swimbaits Sunday morning for the first time and manage to catch a half dozen on the S-Waver 168.Fun bait to toss.Nothing with size worth talking about but gained a little confidence with the heavy baits.Definitely need to upsize my S-Waver to the 200.Looking forward to getting some topwater action on my 9" Slammer.

Been a while since I have been on the forum. wanted to get back on here and say hi to everyone. looks like some are already having good luck. I got out yesterday myself to a little honey hole and caught a little 2lber for the first one of the season. Caught on a 4" black / blue speckled fat ika very slowly retrieve. Can't wait to see how everyone does this year.

Has anyone fished the Pisgah Reservoir? Thinking about heading over after classes today and was wondering if it would be worth my time.

Haven't posted much lately but I've been fishing as much as I can with college and all that good stuff. Hit up Merrymeeting this weekend with my buddy Micropterus to prefish for a kayak tourney later this month. It was a tough day but with my new Hook 5, it made things slightly easier. We saw fish cruising up shallow on points but there wasn't much love. Ended up getting the 1st fish on a wacky rigged weighted senko near a dock on a point, weighing 2 lb 6 oz. The next bass came a while later for Micropterus on a bladed jig. It was probably 2 hours before we got into any more fish, on the last point we ended getting into some on blade baits, bladed jigs and a lipless crank ripped off the bottom in 15 FoW. We only caught 5 all together and paddled over 8 miles but ended with 3 lb 6 oz, 2lb 14 oz, 2lb 6 and 2 more over 2. All in all not a bad day and I made a game plan for the tournament so it was a success.

Won a small team tournament on Winni yesterday. Ended up with 4 smallies that went about 10 & 1/2 lbs. Biggest was right around 3 lbs.

water temps were between 47-49. I managed to catch between a 5-6lb salmon on a megabass jerkbait. that was interesting.

Last night I tied on a suspending jerkbait and and began casting into 4 feet of water. I only took two casts the whole evening, the second of which produced this 6 pounder. It is good to see some fish moving up shallow.

Went out this morning to Saltmarsh Pond in Gilford NH. Buddy of mine pulled a 4lb smallie out of there last year. It's a trout pond but we targets smallmouth. No smallies but we did end up limiting out with a fair amount of good sized brook trout. All in all successful Sunday

Glad to see photo's on here. One of the first years I don't need to buy any lures and tackle to start the season. A couple of my friends have been out and suspending stick baits are getting a lot of hits. I'm hoping to get some free time in a couple weeks to get my boat to touch water. Have fun out on the waters.

Last night I had 5 minutes to cast a few from shore, and on my first cast with a chatterbait with rage craw trailer I got a 6.0 pound largemouth. Weighed it, snapped a few pictures and started casting again. Only 8 casts later I set the hook on another big one but broke it off. Lesson learned...always re-tie after a good fish. Still a great start to the season!
