The tree was pretty big, extending from the shoreline going out a bit. Not sure the water temps, all I know is I was real cold but the river felt nice and warm.

How far up do you usually go on the river? I've never been past like the first island that's there across the boat ramp from stellos launch

I usually start at the stellos area or the launch off of broad st.  most of the time i am in my canoe and i dont go too far up.  occasionally i will take the big boat with 16 ft deep v aluminum 25 hp motor and go to hollis.   i have decent luck at the broad st ramp then go 5 minutes up by paddle and fish the middle island areas.     with a canoe/kayak you can put in at the hollis runnels bridge area and fish the golf course side, and around that island.   lots of underwater grass.   dont forget a heavy anchor.  the water flow there is faster.     i am going to post some pics in a few after they upload to photobucket.    fished in my waders from shore near the broad st launch

my fav river in my waders before work this morning.   my first 6 1/2 , new best for me,  23 1/2 inch on a full sized spro rat , black with red tail

and a bunch of small ones also , last pic is a few nights ago at the pennichuck.  no ruler or scale , was a 4ish by my guess

Around the corner at Kingston lake is where I like to go. Pulled some fatties out of there. Go early or on a weekday. Plenty of cover and structure.

Just fished Province Lake today up the street from there, Smallmouth are active on chatterbaits with purple on it. Stick baits were still working for largemouth even wacky rigged senkos around the rocks. The wind will be the deciding factor on Lovell if it gets above 10 mph it will slow the fishing there. The launch area will be great if the sun is up as will the weed line which is now starting to grow. (just past the first no wake maker) Colder or cloudy weather head to the south behind the islands. The banks along the south west side (bottom middle of the lake) is my go to for smallys this time of year.  Iknow its not much but hope it helps.

Forgot to post Province temp was 58 so spawning will happen soon and stick bait fishing will slow down.

Went out today to Tinker Rd Bridge got one only 1 fish. Walked out on this log to catch him and suddenly the tree snapped I went in the water phone broke almost lost my rod, but I said f*** it and swam out and got the rod \m/-___-\m/ for the win. all in all good day caught a fish and let me tell yea judging by I was swimming around the water like it was summer the temps should be up and the fish should be biting more aggressively.

Kills me to do this but I am going to throw this out there. The evening of May 11th I left my swimbait setup of a Shimano Calcutta 401D and a Okuma Guide Select Swimbait Rod Heavy, on the town beach of Cobbetts Pond in Windham NH. If any of you guys have any information about it, I'd really appreciate it if you would let me know. I am offering a reward for its safe return.

Just out of curiosity, how'd it happen?

I walked over to help a fellow fisherman who was visibly just starting to learn how to fly fish. I walked over and set my setup on the chain link fence and gave him 5 minutes of tips and techniques. I then walked back to my other rods where I was fishing, never grabbing the one I walked over with.

I think the fishing has been slow because of the wind. I went out a few times while it was very windy and only hooked into dinky LMs.

Any of you guys know how the bass fishing is on Ossipee Lake near Freedom? My family has a cabin on the lake but I haven't fished it. The water seems dead from what I have seen up around Berry Bay - but maybe that's the wrong end of the lake for fishing?

There are some real nice smallies in there. They should be on beds soon. Should be some fantastic fishing. Some lunker largemouth lurk in there as well.

Got out today and got on 3 fish.  Should have been 6, but I was a little rusty on the hooksets lol.  Found a big female on a bed in the back of a random creek and capitalized.  It was a nice fight. Hope everyone is having a good time out there!:fish1:
