Yup. It IS going on. Got 3 fish today in about 5 hours, but one was a 5-3, and the others were chunky 2.75ers. All of them hit a Pearl Slide Swimmer 145 worked wicked slow, just subsurface. Water finally hit 40 degrees, so still cold. If you're patient enough, you can catch 'em. This coming week is going to get 'em moving and eating more.

Silent killer not slide swimmer..nice fishy tho.

Oh yeah, that's what I meant. The thing is a stick of fish-catching dynamite!

Big price difference between the names. But still great baits all around

Nice fish Shane!  I got out for a few hours in the canoe, but no luck.  I was mostly throwing jerkbaits and squarebills.  Tried a jig for a while, and still no luck.  it was nice to be out there but a hog would have been better.

Getting the Nitro out of storage this week so hopefully I'll be on the fish by Saturday.  Tight lines!

Rivers running pretty high right now and is dirty,  I'd give it a few days if the rain holds off.

I would focus your efforts on smaller ponds this time of year if you are fishing from shore. The Merrimack can produce great largemouth and smallmouth, but I have usually had better results after the spawn on the river. Good luck.

After an arm injury forced me to sit out 2015, I am ready to go. I can lift the canoe, which was the rehab goal. But just in case, I got a kayak that weighs half of what the canoe weighs. Hope to see some of you around this season.

Glad to hear you are ready to go. Which kayak did you get? I'm looking for something light weight too. Thanks in advance!

i liked my kayak at the beginning ,it got uncomfortable for me ,i used them for 3 seasons. as i pushed past the 50+ age it started to get too heavy at 59 lbs.   i moved to an old town pack 12 canoe (33lbs)  lighter than the kayaks.  it is made of royalex material.  there is another one now made of abs. 12 ft long at 44 lbs. i like it much better.    sits up higher so i can see more of the water,  very steady and comfortable for me.  also has the trolling motor option.   I just remade the deck 2 inch higher from last yr.   i also made it 2 inch wider (12 inch )  it is 31 inch across at the widest point.    with the deck and the chair with the adjustable back it is still under 40 lbs.   anchor ropes front and rear , but i made myself a stab in anchor from an old ham radio fiberglass antenna.   i have 5 - 4 ft sections.   everything i add to it obviously adds weight.   depending on where i am going i take this into consideration. trolling motor is about 20 lbs and battery is 26 lbs.   the wheel set allows me to get it into places like tower hill very easy completely outfitted with the troller and battery.  i can carry up to 5 rods to allow me to easily swap to different rigs without having to retie.   again depending where i am going allows me to adjust and leave stuff in the truck if i want light quick easy.   with a pad i put on my shoulder i can carry it really easy.   also has full mount for humminbird with side image and down image. its 2 yrs into the making and i am sure i will tweak things a little more this yr.   the holes in the deck are for long pliers and a pair of cutters.  also a coffee cup holder.

Went out tonight and the bite was on caught about 6 of these bad boys all around 2-2.25 lbs biggest being 2.3. Hey I'll take it for this time of year. All caught on a KVD swim jig with grass pig trailer in black and blue just swam it back real slow with a stop Here and there. They would just swallow umm. Now if I could only get on some size atleast a 4lber would be good.

Caught this little guy. How do you guys post multiple pics in one posting. Do you have to shrink them all down so they total less than 153kb. I would have tried that but was afraid they would be too small to see.

The NH bass tournament schedule has just been posted. Amazing Squam (big)has 29 tournaments on it. Can't these clubs learn how to fish other waters?

http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/fishing/tournament-schedule.html

I agree 100%. I am a little disappointed with the tournaments this year.  I have done draw tournaments in the past but it seems like those are disappearing and it is more of a set team for multiple tournaments.  I am going to contact some of the clubs to hopefully find a boater who is in search of a partner.

Since I live on the NH-ME border I have been doing Maine bass tournaments, lake access is better and the fishing pressure is a lot less. A new club Moe's Bass Busters even has Weds tournaments this year.

Who sells rage tail around here?

Most of the tackle sellers like Bass PRI in Hooksett, most Walmart or a Dick's sporting goods. Biggest selection rage stuff would probably be Bass Pro.

Got out on the Nashua River on Saturday as the rain started and went up to the strech around the golf course.  Lost 2 shadow raps on submerged trees which was rough. The current up there is brutal in a kayak. Threw my new *** jerkbait and caught a couple of 1 pounders and some other weird fish. I included a pic to see if you guys can identify it. Maybe a white perch?

Fallfish or River Chub, whatever you want to call it. If you squeeze them while unhooking them they make a really weird squealing noise lol. Catch them frequently when searching for trout with the fly.
