Caught them all on a Rebel pop r. The bite is back! Amazing they were on a topwater bite. With the water so called way to go. Quote

I came into a little reedy cove and could see some light blow ups on the surface, so I I tied on a small spook to start and got 1 miss. Decided to go a bit smaller, Rebel pop-r, and it paid off. I didn't check the water temps, but I was on the Nashua 2 weeks back and the water was frigid, but that morning i t was just a bit cold. I got to get a thermometer lol. Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 It is time. Open water everywhere ! Early season is big bass season ! 5 Quote
Phil_NH Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Anyone know where to launch a kayak on the Nashua river to fish by the clocktower? Never been down that strech of the river before. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yes, first left off of Franklin st. there is an access there that is marked.  but if you keep going back towards the building they just rehabed , thats where i park. I carry in from there. hopefully under the new bridge will attract some fish to that structure.   thats the quickest way behind clocktower. Quote

It would be interesting if it does go by the actual border. I always have both NH and ME permits. I have never seen a maine warden on Great East always the NH patrol. I received this information today from Lt. Heidi Murphy at NH Fish and Game Dept. The interstate water regulations do not specify the use of a lead jig while freshwater fishing. Therefore, you would need to revert to the rules for that particular state you are fishing in. Even though it is an interstate water, there is a boundary for the states. If you are fishing in the state of New Hampshire, you must follow the regulations pertaining to the use of lead jigs. It is not illegal to possess lead jigs while fishing but it is illegal to use a lead jig (one ounce or smaller) for the taking of fish in freshwater. I know it can be confusing so if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. Should be interesting! I'm not sure if navionics show state borders. 3 Quote

Padded floors, and carpeted seats make it pretty d**n comfy, especially for 1, VERY stable, all welded. I have spent probably thousands of hours in this boat, and I've always been glad I had it, even when I did still have the big boat. Seriously A LOT of fish mojo in this thing! I've caught more big fish out of this boat, than any other vessel ever, and it's because it's so easy, always ready to go. Zero maintenance. Going to also include the 45lb Minn Kota Endura, but not the battery. $750 takes this bass assassinator home. Feel free to txt me with any questions or whatever. It's registered for 2016, too.  (603)219-8487. Thanks, dudes! Whoever gets it, gets to take me out fishing wherever they want, we'll go for biggest fish, and if I get beat, I'll knock $50 off. That's an old pic. I got her tightened up a bit more since then. I'd buy this in a heartbeat if I wasn't moving before fall. 1 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 The other way to get into the back side of Clocktower is behind it off Technology way.  there is a parking lot there with a full side boat ramp. go left and you can motor upriver almost back to the bottom of Stello dam. Go right and you can go all the way under and to the Jackson falls dam at Margaritas. look for structure on the edges. if you go left you will come across a hard right turn not far up.  fish that corner before you go to the right. there is a bunch of stuff under water (downed trees and stuff i assume)  that corner catches a lot of stuff. 1 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 i need to mention, you will see a sign at the boat ramp in the back of technology way. you need to get written permission to use this ramp. its easy,  registration and license , go inside the building to the office. they filled out a slip for me to put on my dashboard. NO ALCOHOL , PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF , AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE  the basic legal stuff. Many summer mornings i have arrived there at 3 to 4 am to fish the river. and never had a problem.   Quote

Super User Shane J Posted March 12, 2016 Super User Posted March 12, 2016 Went out today with a buddy to test out some new baits and stuff. Wind made it tough to really operate, but it was nice being up on plane on an open lake again. What wasn't so cool, was casting off a $50 bait, on the very first cast with it, and nope, it wasn't a floater. Oh, well. We didn't catch anything, but  I did find baitfish in 11'. There's no time too early, guys. Go find 'em. I'll be out in the jon tomorrow. Good luck, fellas. 1 Quote
MainelyBASS Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Got on them early and often today. 22 total with 3 big ones. 3 Quote

603eng Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Went to Mill Pond for a couple hours on Friday. Â Like an idiot I forgot my bag that had all of my tackle in it...so I was limited to a couple of jerkbaits that I had in my car. Â Slow down with a couple of dink perch, but it felt good to be out and get more practice on the baitcaster. Â Next time out I'll be able to put together a better effort. Quote
nhpleasantlakebass Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 fished a little pond near my work Saturday and caught my first fish of the year, not a bass but a 17 inch pickerel. better then nothing it was good to feel that tug on my line. 1 Quote
Phil_NH Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Went to Flint's pond at sunrise on Sunday and stayed till 830am. Nothing. Left and went to Mill pond. Fished all way up the Nashua canal reservoir to the last bridge. Finally had one smash the finesse jig w/rage craw trailer.the pic isn't great. It's funny because it was a chunky fish and I weighed it and it said 1.65. Tested the scale out at home and the thing was set to kilo grams lol. So it was 3 and a half pounds. Felt real nice. 1 Quote

Fly_Fisherman Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Hit up Rocky Pond on Friday and fished from 3-5. Managed a lber on my first cast with a speed shad then nothing else besides a few bumps on a crank. Great to be catching fish in early March though! 2 Quote

Other then a lead tester or a hot flame to see if it melts or scrapping the paint off there's no way to tell with out a package. The only thing I had to get rid of were my tube weights. My tungsten jigs are smaller and harder to the comparable lead weight size. Quote
mhtranger Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Bob, where are you getting your tungsten jigs? I have been looking online and haven't seen any at BP. Quote

My tube jig heads I got from lead free jig heads.com they are ok but made from bizmuth. 1 Quote
