high school kids just did a 1 day tourney out of lee mills?   nhiaa high school results.    looks like they caught a lot of fish

Hey guys.

2 days ago I fished the NHIAA High School Bass Fishing tournament out of Lees Mills on Lake Winnipasaukee. I saw a few of you talking about it, so I decided I'll post and give a little bit of my insight on this lake. There's one place that you should fish on this lake according to me; 10-20 feet deep humps. I nailed 5 of them hopping a PB&J Mini Mop jig off the bottom with a Rage Craw trailer. My best for the day was the 4.33 lb LM, she didn't show her face until right next to the boat :). Second biggest bass in the tournament, by 0.10 pounds. My partner and I finished 6th, which qualifies us for the finals on Winnisquam next Saturday! Another thing to point out would be to fish greens basin. All 7 of our fish were caught there. You will catch fish there. Happy fishing guys, keep those lines tight and wish me luck next Saturday.

Nice job Milford, that is typically where I fish when I'm up there. Good luck next weekend.

Congrats MilfordNHBasser and good luck on the future tourneys,That's a good reason I keep suggesting Lees Mills area to fish. It has it's own eco system that feels like a small lake but has many advantages of Winni itself. The rockiness and shallow areas make it hard for sport boaters to ruin your day. Lees is also able to produce bass in the 7-8lb sizes (my father 7.4) while smallies can be found in the 4lb sizes (4.6 for me). The channel between Badger and Goodwin has always produced many memorable moments. The rock hazards in Greens can always produce.

Again good luck with the school tourneys.

Biggest of the year so far. Caught her a couple hours ago on a jig and Baby Rage Craw. 8lbs 1oz of fall feeding beauty. 23" x 20.5" They've been all over the moving baits lately, and tonight was no different. Swimming my jig was getting all my fish. Hope ya'll are getting in on some of this action.

P-S  Just realized how crappy the pics came out. Looks like my line might have messed up the focus. Oh well, you get the point!

PP-S  The line, by the way, is 17lb Vicious Pro Elite flouro. Awesome line for jigs, especially in the rocks.

Oh, and yesterday I got 7-1, and Jitterbug got his new PB of 7-3, but I'll let him show you if he wants. We were getting 'em on jigs and swimbaits yesterday. Man, you gotta love this stuff!

Haven't been posting at all this year, kids man...  I agree, the fish have been hitting moving baits lately.  Swimming a jig real slow has worked well.  Gotten 5+ lbrs in all of the last 3 tournaments I've fished, Massabessic, Stumpfield, Pawtuckaway.

Anyone fish Pleasant Lake in Deerfield?  Going blind on Sunday, I've never been.  Any info would be much appreciated.  PM if you want.

My old man's day at Stumpfield a couple weekends ago...the small one was just over 4lbs...the big one weighed in at 6lbs5oz.  It had the head and shoulders of a 7+lbr but was too skinny, that toad in the spring or later in the fall is a 7+lbr all day....

You're right, I should put that slobberknocker up, too, huh?

This little lady had a thing for my crankbait, so I let her have it.

Thanks.  I have some time off this week and don't want to waste my NH non-resident fishing license......

I hear you guys have BIG bass up there...

What started out as a perfect fishing morning turned into a hard day of fishing but still not disapointed at the quality of the fish in Rust Pond in Wolfeboro, NH We worked onthe idea with  it being foggy and water at 65 that top water would work, when that didnt happen turned to crank baits and rattle traps then we started shore fishing after a couple hours scratching out heads we went deep 25-30 ft hitting the bottom with jigs either a green pumpkin spider jig or a black/blue 1/2 oz jig with a rage craw bama or green pumpkin. out of 14 caught in the boat the smallest was a 2.8 SM. What made this exciting was fighting a fish in deep water sometimes 50 yards away then watching them jump at a distance. Biggest for me was a 5lb LG and a 4lb SM if you don't mind launching a small boat or canoe so close to rt28 right next to the ramp then this is a nice quiet pond to fish.

4lb SM

5lb LM

I haven't viewed it yet but I have some gopro footage that hopefully came out.

Thanks for the heads up but my schedule changed quickly.  We're hosting an exchange student from Spain for a couple weeks.  My daughter dropped that request on us on short notice so that 'to do' list everyone has around their house just skipped 1st and went right to 5th gear...

Maybe I'll get up there, maybe not.... this year.   I'll just buy another N/R license next year and use it more...

Have a great week everyone!

Way to go Bob.  That pond is the first spot my dad and I started fishing smallies 30 yrs ago.  We used a canoe and had to park down the road.  Gd to hear it's as gd now as it was then.

Gonna be getting out in a little bit... Definitely going to be tossing around the line thru trout again today, spinnerbait, jigs, and squarebills will certainly make an appearance as well. This is my type of day to be on the water!

Went out today on Lincoln Pond. The water looked like it dropped down a decent amount from the last time I fished there a lot of people there as well. Tried covering as much water as possible so I was swimming the jig around a lot till i figured out where they were bunched up couldn't get any on that tactic, so I switched over to a Senko for a bit trying to see if they would hit the wacky rig. No luck there. All in all I got skunked, but tomorrows another day. Been hitting up small ponds with the canoe hoping to get one above 6lbs before the season ends.

Just got back from a short 2 hour outing with two fish, one good one...

They were both real shallow in 1-2 ft of water and came on the 4" huddleston weedless shad (golden shiner)... Here's the brute at 5.1

5.1
