bobh64 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 NIce day out on the lake at Swains (any time on the water is great) Water running around 73 degrees, A couple of smallies along with some 3lb lg mouths made it nice. Getting my time in on this lake before they drain it for the winter. Now to get ready for some Maine lake fishing for the weekend. Quote
nhbassin Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Nashua Nev, youve been killing them lately! Keep it up. This next week or so is when I have caught all my biggest bass in years past. Anyone notice the fishing moving more shallow in the past week? Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Round Pond in Nashua this morning from 6 - 7:30 3 over 3 , one of them almost 4 and a bunch of small ones. Starting throwing the brokentail black jitterbug and never even picked up the other rods with the rage tail craw or the crank bait. boat launch area to 1/2 way out is 3 feet or less all weeds underwater and some on top opposite side where campers inn was years ago is all weeds at the edge but the water in that area gets just over 14 feet in some areas. lots of it 8 - 12 feet Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 All i did was start throwing the black jittebug along the weeds edges. seems like they were in the lillys and weeds and came out to grab a snack. It starting working right away and i never stopped throwing it. I usually only throw the jittebug in the dark of night but this morning it was on the rod , so i threw it. My intent was to switch to the spook after 1 or 2 casts. and if the spook didnt work go to a weightless rage tail craw and then a 1 -3 ft crankbait that will float when you stop reeling. Usually when its light i am throwing the spook first. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 14, 2012 Author Posted September 14, 2012 Got out to Mill pond for a couple of hours caught only one bass. That place sucks now. I really wish they never cleaned the weeds out of there. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Are they cleaning it more? I was there 3ish weeks ago and did well. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 Are they cleaning it more? I was there 3ish weeks ago and did well. Well not that I'm aware of. How many did you catch? Honestly that pond has gone down hill. I did catch a 3 pounder there and a few other small ones a week ago, but only one today. Water looks containmented now. BTW the milfoil is coming back by the dam. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I posted picks of 5 or 6 3ish weeks ago. and a huge pickerel with them. No largemouth for me today only smallmouths behind margarittas. Honey pot pond tomorrow then off to the cape with the wife for a week, No fishing pole, no hockey sticks... Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Nothing happened a Honey Pot pond this morning. I believe there are fish there , we just did not find them, and they did not find us. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Anyone still fishing? I plan to take a day off and get out one last time before I call it a season. Just really busy now with my sons hockey/baseball leaving me with only a little time to fish. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 just back from a week at the cape. The canoe awaits me. as long as the water is not solid i can still fish, just dressing warmer. atleast 2 weeks before they start to lower the lakes. Pawtuckaway i think oct 8th ... cant wait to get out there after that... Saturday and Sunday for sure not sure where yet... Quote
bobh64 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Will be fishing till at least the middle of Oct myself. Quote
nhbassin Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 How is the water temp around southern/central nh right now? I have been fishing in Northern MA the past week or two and the water is still very warm. I went to lake Cochicewick in North Andover yesterday and the water was around 80 degreese still. Only got 1 largemouth, around 1.5-2 pounds in the half hour I was there. Quote
mhtranger Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I'm fishing Sat on Winni but not sure how it will be? I hope to fish till I can't feel my hands!! LOL Quote
