clr9933 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Anyone fished Clement Pond in Hopkinton? Take a look at it on google maps and let me know what you think. It may be too small but I don't want people in canoes or john boats to have trouble getting around. The only time I've been there I was one of two boats on the water. We caught a few decent bass in a short period of time. Open to suggestions. Quote
YungAngler Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 What's everyone thoughts on Pawtuckaway? Haven't been there in years. Not a huge lake, but plenty of water to explore. Also it may be little easier for us seacoast guys as far as travel. I'm open to any suggestions, just my 2 cents. Quote

A possibility, I'm supposed to be doing a tourney there on May 10th but I'm not sure if my dad will agree to let me use his boat without him haha, Quote
YungAngler Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 i also have an extra seat in my Nucanoe if someone needs a spot on a boat. Quote
SmalljawNH Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Fished a tournament on the CT River last Saturday and placed fourth. Tough day, two fish for 4lb 3oz. My first tournament ever and it was a BLAST!! Didn't get bit until we got in some clearer waste. Both smallmouth were caught with in five minutes at around one o'clock. Glad we stuck it out. Pics from Sunday. Better day, four fish total was 11.2lbs. Lunker was 3.6lbs. The fish moved up really shallow, 1 to 3 fow in milfoil. Water temp was the warmest in the lake at 51 - 52 degrees. All the fish seemed to be positioned on a wind blown bank. I was fishing an 3/8 oz chatter bait with a Keitech Swing Impact 4" trailer over the tops of the milfoil. Three of the fish hit it after I tore it free from the grass. Definitely a better day last Sunday. I want to fish both days this weekend too. Wondering where everyone else will be. I have a tournament scheduled for Mother's Day on Newfound. Can't wait, should be a good time to fish for smallies. 1 Quote
MikeOGNR Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Went to Lincoln Pond today with my canoe for the first time had a few bites on the rubber worm, but no fish for me it was nice to get out today. Quote
clr9933 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Heading to a small reservoir this morning, I'll be fishing from shore off a rocky point most of the time but we'll see where the bass take me. Hopefully I'll have something to talk about when I'm back! Anyone else getting out today? Quote
clr9933 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Got this largemouth on my first cast to a submerged tree with a jig/rage craw. Sure felt good! 3 Quote
bobh64 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Did Mousam in Maine yesterday 9 bass and one 26 inch laker that my buddy caught on a silver blade jig the smallies and largemouth were hammering square bill cranking baits they had to have chartreuse on them and floating stick baits most were off rocky shoals 3-6ft the laker he caught in about 18 ft of water near a rocky hump we fished. Also the chikara squarebill crankbait worked great! 2 Quote

MikeOGNR Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Gonna go out I think in a few minutes wanna hit someplace local around me was thinking Potanipo or maybe Rocky Pond. If anyone is in Nashua right now and wants to fish the river too I am down for that as well. I have my canoe with an extra seat. Quote
YungAngler Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 So today was a little rough out there. I managed to snap the tip of my brand new Cumara about 15 mins into my day. Also, I almost got stuck out there, as I lost track of time, and started losing juice on my little trolling motor. The wind blew my on the opposite side of the lake, far from the launch spot. I had to dock my kayak at a random cabin. I flagged down a lady, who gave me a ride back to the launch - i was 2 miles away by car. A fellow angler helped me get my kayak out of the water. All in all, a hectic day, but I did manage to find a nice area of the lake holding a bunch of smallies - 5-10 ft of water. Got 3 good sized ones and a bunch of rainbows. Smallies were chasing my KVD squarebills right up to the boat. Oh, thanks to Bob for recommending Lovell Lake. Will be going back there for sure - with a bigger battery!! 3 Quote
clr9933 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 That's quite the day. Those are some good looking smallies you got. Squarebills seem to be working for people right now I guess. Quote
DevilDoc Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Only Mr. Pickerel wanted to play, gonna put the kayak in tommorrow at a place my neighbor recommended Quote

Squarebills seem to be working for people right now I guess Yeah man, it was me and one other canoe on the water. The other guy didn't see one bass. I def found a little honey hole. Had em chasing up to the boat on almost every cast. Sometimes 2 at a time. I was using the natural perch color. It was the only color that worked. The rainbows were devouring a red eye shad in the same color as well. I gotta say, despite the broken rod, and crazy wind situation, it was an awesome day to be out there. Quote
YungAngler Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 here's the last good one i got i gotta say, I hate messing with the phone on the water. tough to get good pics by yourself 1 Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I fished Sebago today. It sure was pretty choppy this afternoon, kind of like an ocean. Fishing was ok. Landed 7 bass, 4 largemouth and 3 smallmouth. Got a 2-14 smallmouth as well as two decent largemouth a 3-4 and a 3-7. Got a nice sunburn too. Tomorrow I will be fun fishing my favorite big bass lake. 2 Quote
bobh64 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Just got some pics from my buddy fishing Loon Pond in Effingham NH 5 and 6 pound largemouth's including a 5.8 smallmouth all on squarebill crankbaits and jerk baits. Why do I have to work instead of having fun playing in the water. 3 Quote

That lake has some crazy size fish, The dam area and the inlet leading out of the ramp is awesome in the summer when the weeds grow. I have never had a 13 inch bass weigh over 2 lbs till I fished that lake. The weekends the ramp area gets busy there so I go during the weekdays on Lovell. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 HOLY CRAP THAT IS A GIANT SMALLY! I'll be heading out for a little bit, hopefully I can a few fish to enter into the comp... Quote
