I have read a decent amount of posts on here about Robinson Pond. NH Fish and Game has

Small mouth listed as being in there. Has anyone caught any in there? I know they're better small

mouth fisheries like Winni, Squam, Sunapee etc... but wanted something closer. Thanks!

Robinson pond in Hudson? I’ve never caught a smallmouth there. The largemouth fishing is ok but the milfoil really choked that place out in the past and the fishing declined from when I fished it as a kid 20 years or so ago.

Bummer on Big Island Pond. The 20 feet from fishing docks or boats is kind of a no go for me if they enforce it.

I don't think Robinson Pond has smallies. I have fished it a good amount and never seen one caught. Like redmexican5081 said, it's a pretty mediocre fishery. I only go there because its less than 5 minutes from my house so it's easy if I only have an hour or two after work.

Anyone fish Great Pond in Kingston? I am trying to find some more places to fish within 30 minutes of Hudson and haven't ventured towards Kingston.

I fish Kingston pond. There’s an old road bed that you can catch pretty big fish on. That and lake attitash I will prob be fishing the most. Just moved to Haverhill from southern NH. I live right in the Merrimack river so will be trying my luck on that as well. If anyone fishes in these areas at all let me know could always meet up and do some fishing.

Has anybody fished the Nashua River yet, and caught fish this season? I fish almost everyday during summer in the Nashua River since is the closest place to my house. I normally catch tons of small smallmouth, there is also perch, pickerel, bluegill, largemouth and rock bass. I fished a couple weeks ago when there was a a couple of warm days and had ZERO bites, I didn't even see any fish. I tried a drop shot, finesse swimbait, ned rig, etc... Even tried the jerk bait which is a killer in the late days of summer. I normally fish near were the main street brige is. So has anybody had any luck in the Nashua River this season??

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Martin Sierra

Slow and deep right now, water temps aren’t much above 45.  In the next few weeks you should start to see fish coming into transition zones for the prespawn period. Think points and drops next to flats where they can move up to feed and retreat to deeper water.  When you start seeing bait in the shallows the bass are right behind.

If anyone is interested the gates for access to stumpfield marsh and Hopkinton lake in contoocook, nh were closed and locked this weekend.

There was no notice why (high water/coved/whatever).

If anyone has an update for when they are opened please post here as I’m loathe to drive up there just to find out they are still locked in a couple of weeks.

Gates for stumpfield open in mid may when the army core of engineers does it.

Huh.  I just checked my fishing diary and you know I've never been there this early in the season.  So now I know, thanks.

According to the NH fishing facebook group, there is access for carry in off of Little Frost Road but no ramp.

New here, I do a fair amount of bass fishing and the bite seems terrible so far this year. Almost June 1st and I havent had a single top water bite. Barely any bites on senko and lizards. Nothing on cranks and nothing on jigs. This constant wind is a pain as well. Blows my kayak every which way.

Anyone else notice the bite is off?

I think it’s been off too.  I’ve had some weird days and unlike you have only caught on cranks and jerks and a tiny 2.8 keitech on a small jig head.  Nothing on plastics at all.  I don’t think it’s been windier than usual, but I’m on the other side of the state.

I have only found a consistent pattern once this year.

Has anyone fished Glen lake in Goffstown?

Years ago!

That lake was never known for good fishing.

Cover near the dam used to be ok

Anyone fish newfound lake or the pemmi river (bristol area) recently?    I plan on fishing them both later this week.    Trying to figure out water temps and where the bass are with the spawn.  I’m guessing water temps will be around mid 60s?   I will be targeting mostly bass but also will throw spinners/spoons early morning for trout.   Thanks in advance

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself!  I'm Brian, I've been following the forums on this site for years and finally decided to make an account.  I'm from Northern MA right below the NH border and fish the Nashua often as well as some spots in Hollis and up as far as Concord.  Not sure if a lot of you guys still use this thread or another but would love to take part in discussion and if anyone has any tips for threads/groups to join for the Southern NH/Northern MA area I'd really appreciate it!

Cheers

If you have Facebook join the Merrimack Valley Bass Anglers group. I found it to be much more active. I fish those same areas often as well.
