Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)

Fished Friday and Saturday mornings with much better success for Friday.. I caught 6 fish in the first hour and had a BEAST of a fish get off under the canoe on my second cast. I did get to see her and she had a mouthful of swimbait and weeds until coming off. I would have been more dissapointed if I didn't get a few 3.5 pounders to eat up but the action was great. All of the fish came on the catchem caro uncle manny minnow..

Hit a small lake in the lakes region today 2 hours not a bite. Hopefully next time i get i'll have my new bass pro qualifier, and a little more time.

bass have been slow for me,,,,,  pickerel have been very aggressive.  24 inch and super fat

Stopped at a spot on my way home from class and nailed 3 fish,  two nice chunks then then this THICK fish..  No scale but definitely my biggest of the year so far. Both came on crawling a keel weighted soft swimbait..

Due to a new job an moving to the Boston area, I didn't get out as much as I like last year. I'll be hitting the Quabbin on Saturday for opening day.  Looking forward to some sizable Smallies and some Lake Trout.  Good luck to everyone this year.

Where in the Boston area? I spent 2 years there and know a lot of good shore fishing spots around the city. I caught many 2.5 - 4 pound largemouth within on a few miles of the city. Ill share some spots with you if you are near the areas I used to fish.

Much appreciated. I'm working in Burlington.  Stopped by Horn Pond in Woburn today on my lunch break.  Looked like a promising spot.

Spot Pond in Stoneham is good. If you walk the trails you'll come upon a spot my buddy cut out and made a beach area it's good right at night in the summer. Can't bring a boat on spot but you can rent there canoes "personally I wouldn't 30 bucks an hour" also there is a spot in Stoneham walk through the woods kinda place you can catch some pretty big ones seen people pull 5s out of there PM me and I'll send you the location. Another area if you make it to the city is the Charles River. Very good fishing. The red pin is my buddy's spot he cleared purple is where you park. Purple on dikes pond is where you park there's a little dirt entrance cast big swimbaits or jigs in there also frogs right at dusk in the summer.

Whelp one more work day and the weekend is here. Temps gonna be in the upper 60s hitting 70s. Water temp last I checked was mid 40s some places low 50s and I know the big bass will be hungry my 2 tactics will most likely be a 1/2oz jig with a rage craw trailer and this hog slayer of a bait courtesy of TW. Went out Thursday sunset on the Nashua River and went back to a few good spots. Lost some Rebel poppers to Pickerel but managed a couple of nice Bass. I saw the one in the picture come out of a weed bed and crush the popper.

Mike had a good suggestion with Spot Pond. It has very clear and deep water. I prefer to park at quarter mile pond off of Woodland Road and fish that for largemouth and continue to walk in to the southern most part of Spot pond and fish for smallies off of the big rocks there. Just south of those two ponds is Wrights Pond in Medford which has a small dirt parking spot on Elm Street. This is more stained water and isn't as deep, but holds plenty of largemouth.

In the opposite direction, Harold Parker State Forest in Andover has a ton of ponds, a few of which (Field Pond specifically) hold nice largemouth. Also if you have your kayak you can access Fosters Pond in Andover off of Rattlesnake Hill Road. Good luck!

Quarter mile pond is a killer spot. There's some big ones In there buried up in those weeds. Spot Pond is a gold mine too because of the no access. Back in the day like the 70s my uncle was on a committee that controlled the drainage flow in spot pond at the island in the middle people used to actually box out there almost like a fight club.

Best one I've caught this year. Caught here on a hula popper on the Nashua river on Friday around sunset. Popped it along a shade line and she crushed it.

field pond in harold parker used to be a bass hatchery, there's huge bass in there.I fished it for many years out of my tiny basshunter boat,..a kayak will work good, there is some shore fishing but your better off with a floating platform as there are stumps scattered throughout the entire pond,..be it a canoe, kayak, or crawdad.This time of the year you cant go wrong with a original perch patterned  rapala, toss over the stumps, twitch and pause for a while as if its a dying perch. they will lightly suck it under the surface and will surprise you when you finally hook one and feel its weight, the hit will seem like a sunfish hit it, but you may pull out a personal best

Nice fish guys. I got out on my favorite spring fishing pond on Friday in the Nitro and had a great day. It was kind of slow in the morning butreally picked up in the afternoon.   Got out again yesterday to a small pond in the canoe and killed it around sunset. Lots of 2 to 3 pound largemouth bass. Everything came on a tube or one of the many rage baits I have thanks to Shane (you rock buddy!) on Friday and everything came on a jig yesterday.  

Very excited that the jig bite is on, and it seems like the big fish are already shallow.  Gonna be a great spring!  Tight lines all!

 Anyone have any advice for a great place to vacation in early June in Maine? Want to take a week and hit the water to find some big Maine fish!

Went out Yesturday got skunked but the action on the basstrix swimbaits is unbelievable. Haven't really been able to put in the full time on the water only 2 hours here 2 there because of work, but I'm hoping once I can get out for a full 4-5 hours atleast I can cover a lot more water with the swimbait and pick apart the ponds with a jig. Tight lines brothas gonna be another warm spell this week good luck to all.

I dropped in for about an hour and a half today and got one bite but a GOOOD one! She slammed a 1/4oz swim jig with a rage craw on the back... Had the scale on me this time thankfully and read 5.66 trying to stay after em! Not sure why this one is sideways either, my buddy has to send me the photo he took..

Got out today after work at a nice little secret spot up near my camp. Got about 4 of these pickerels in about 4-8ft of water on the basstrix swimbait reeling slow and steady. Feeling a hog in my future can't get enough of these swim baits the 6in and 7in in rainbow trout and perch colors were the ticket.
