bass crazy Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Â Welcome to the forum. I have never fished Pleasant lake. But i would be interested in any info you have. I went there about 3 years ago to fish it. I think the launch and parking across the road had been just upgraded. Â I got there to late in the morning and could not find a parking spot so I went on to Northwood lake. I think i need to get back to pleasent and try it out. Quote
nhpleasantlakebass Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Ya its always been good fishing for me some 6+ lb lmb and 4+ lb smb the average catch for me has gotten much bigger since the state upgraded the launch, selfishily I wish they never did the launch was really bad before scared a lot of people away. The reason they did the upgrade is they started to stock the lake with trought about 8 years ago. The lmb are on the docks since there are no weeds in the lake its there best cover I have lots of luck with big boys under swim floats in 8-12 ft of water. The smallies tend to get caught in just 3 different places its a small lake look for some hidden rock piles in about 20 ft of water. 1 Quote

Nashua Nev Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 fished Horton pond in Mont Vernon yesterday for 5 hours.  6am to11am. Had a dozen total. all on rage bugs. nothing bigger than 2 1/2 lbs. all of them deep in the weeds.       used my new anchor stay pole system i built from a ham radio antenna.      Quote
nhpleasantlakebass Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Nice fish looks like you had a good time. How deep of water can you anchor with that system nev? Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 the main pole is 8 ft , add the handle part adds 1 foot , i have an add in section that adds 4 ft. , less the height of the canoe. about 11 feet, i am actually going to take the 8 footer and cut it down to 6 and make another 6 footer, (storage in my truck)    That will allow me to do about 15 feet of water.  total weight is a lot less than the 12 lb anchor i was using, and i had a 2nd anchor that was 8 lbs to help stop me from spinning.   so far it is working awesome.   I worked on several designs and types of mounts to hold it.  this one is by far the best.  i used aluminum to keep weight to a minimum.   My 10 ft canoe set up with this anchor stay pole , working deck and seat is still under 38 lbs.    Quote

BassHunter 66 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Headed up to Ossipee Lake this Saturday, never had any luck there, anyone have any knowledge of the lake. I am thinking deep Carolina rig but not sure what works there Quote
ipt Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Headed up to Ossipee Lake this Saturday, never had any luck there, anyone have any knowledge of the lake. I am thinking deep Carolina rig but not sure what works there i would spend most of my time on the drop shot like i do on most of the clearer lakes. focus some drop offs near briggs point and patch pond point. if you wanted to fish for shallow bass, the river on the south end is pretty good. the bays are also decent spots for shallow bass 2 Quote
RMcDuffee726 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 4 pounds flat, caught in a farm pond, which I only thought contained dinks.  This fish was so satisfying due to the fact that I broke her off Sunday and was really bothered by it.  I was determined to "re-catch" her.  I can sleep easy now...LOL.  Quote
jverrock Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Heading up to Sebago this weekend any one no any good spots on the lake to try Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Headed up to Ossipee Lake this Saturday, never had any luck there, anyone have any knowledge of the lake. I am thinking deep Carolina rig but not sure what works there  Ossipee has some HUGE smallies in it. Along the eastern shore in 8-12 feet there are isolated giant boulders way way off shore. The usually mark the few that come close the surface. I have had some luck there.  Heading up to Sebago this weekend any one no any good spots on the lake to try   Sebago can be a tough one to figure out. Tons of 1-2.5 lb smallies in there. Some giant largemouth too if you can find them. Muddy River, Panther run and Lower Bay can be pretty good at times. 2 Quote

Beaver lake I'm assuming..nothing decent in there..way too many boaters and jet skiers to put up with for the slim pickens in there. Quote

bobh64 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 My friend just sent me a picture from his taxidermist of the 10lb fish he caught last year on NH waters last fall. Soon it will be mounted on some drift wood and going home. official weight from a certified scale was 10.01lbs. All I can say it was caught in waters in Rockingham county. Â 3 Quote

Considering the whole place is stocked with trout every year, no wonder why this fish got so big.  All the bass there get to eat fat fish year round.  I bet there are bigger fish than a 10 in there too! Quote

Best time would be the fall at this water hole. there is to much water traffic at this time of year there. I'm happy catching any size fish it's always a thrill for me. 1 Quote
jaystraw Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Not a 10lb'er, but a decent 5lb'er I caught yesterday. For some reason, I cannot get the editor to rotate the image. I'll fix it when it is working correctly again.  3 Quote
MilfordNHBasser Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Great weekend for smallies up in Vermont. They were destroying the frog. Best 2, first went 3.76 on the frog and second went 2.94 on a wacky rigged worm. 3 Quote
