Nashua Nev Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Merrimack river  There is a launch at Sewalls falls---- i have never used it  There is a launch at NHTI -- I USE THIS A LOT AND GO STRAIGHT ACROSS into the grassy areas , i do not usually fish the main river here.  There is a launch at Everett arena --- shallow launch not for big boats  There is also one in Pennacook down Merrimack st or Mccoy st off of which is off Treemont st or Canal st , follow Merrimack or Mccoy to end then go left, you will see the dirt road to the launch behind the building. --- leave no valuables in your car/truck here. --- there are also paths to walk and fish this area From this launch fish the area but also if you jump out into the main river and go left it will take you to another inset under another railroad bridge. some good early season fishing here  google earth is fantastic.  there are other sites like it as well to help you find water.  If you have not tried google earth try it and google your own house. Literally you can see my motorcycles in my garage with street view.    Does anyone know Snow pond?  while googling i found it but never heard of it.  Its in Loudon ? i cannot find access path trial or road Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 i am for sure.  I have to work Sat by 9 am so probably the Nashua river, or possibly Flints pond in Hollis  Sunday yes, but where is the ???????   Mt Williams pond possibly.  or possibly carry my kayak to Beaver pond in Hollis or Rocky pond Hollis Quote
mebisho Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Going to Newfound Lake tomorrow. First time there Sunday, not sure yet. Might try Massabesic or stay local in Merrimack, Horseshoe perhaps. These threads, especially Nashua Nev, has given me a lot of options to try within a few miles of my house. I'm also going to build a cart to tote my canoe around with. Found some kids bicycle wheels at the dump that will work pretty good  Good luck to all who are going Quote
KlubbaT Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Is anyone looking for a fishing partner tomorrow? All my fishing buddies are busy tomorrow. May be free Sunday as well. Waiting to hear back from Deak. Quote
mhtranger Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Just a quick question for anyone who know? What is going on a Northern Bass? I went by this afternoon and half the place was closed off and no one was around to check out my order. As I was leaving I saw a guy at the back door smoking. Ended up just leaving without buying the stuff I needed. Quote

I'm surprised no one helped you out there. Since most of their sales are done online, they are closing half of their store and renting it to someone else. The way you purchase there is slightly different now. You can now go in to back room where they kept all their stock. How is it different? Do you have to smoke a butt with the guy out back to get your items? 2 Quote
RMcDuffee726 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Had a great day on the water in Amherst and my largest largemouth was 5.3 lb. Â Here are two pictures of the fish. Â Â Â Â Quote
mhtranger Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I was surprised too. Usually stop there on my way back from my dads in Barrington. This was the first time I have been in there since April. Â Â Quote

jaystraw Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Hey Guys, went out for the first ime in quite a while. Had a great day at Higland lake. The highlight was this 5lb 4 oz beauty, that I swear was bigger than that, but I gotta trust the scale!   If anyone has any tips for Highland, please let me know. It was my firt time there today, and I think I'm in love. It's only 15 min from my house, and it's my new favorite spot. 2 Quote

You will be able to go out back now to look at the soft bait selection. It was confusing at first for me also. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted July 12, 2014 Super User Posted July 12, 2014 Jay, I'll fish Highland with you anytime. One of my favorite lakes, too. 1 Quote
jaystraw Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Jay, I'll fish Highland with you anytime. One of my favorite lakes, too. Cool. That would be great. I cannot believe it took me this long to get there. I have to pass Lake Nubanusuit to get there, and I always got distracted.  I'm also interested in hitting up Island Pond, the one you pass just before Highland. I've heard good things. Nashua Nev Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Anyone Bass fish Holts pond up in the Hancock area?  also ,  who uses what for dropshotting ? bait wise Quote
bobh64 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Last tournament for me and it will be on Lake Arrowhead, Maine Sunday. This lake can produce some big bags but this tournament is a 5 fish limit per team. possible 25lb bag or more can win it. I have done it for a lunker tournament before. the biggest at 7lbs. I think chatterbaits and jigs will be the top choice for me. Quote
salmotrutta Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Hit Pleasant Pond in Deerfield yesterday for a couple of hours.Caught a few smallies on tubes and grubs.1 and only LM that went 2lb.14oz. on a Keitech swimbait. Quote
mebisho Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Spent a few hours on Horseshoe Pond in Merrimack this morning, got 6 bass on spinnerbaits and beetle spins. Had a very large boil under a Super Frog. No fish caught were bigger than 1.5 pounds. I was able to mark a lot of fish on the depth finder, they seemed to be bottom hugging Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Horseshoe is tough to figure out , there are some big ones pulled up every season. Black ,dark purple or dark blue , texas rigged lizards.  completely around the other end of the horseshoe from the launch, it has some good drops. Also you can find em in the weeds at both ends if you fish them well. Those heavy grasses and lillys are a pain in the ass for us.  not them. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Canoe was rigged and ready to walk, drag and hit beaver pond in Hollis this morning, ended up at Rocky pond instead.    6 bass, biggest only 17 inch.  i will be going back.   p.s.  dont park at the launch If you are not a HOLLIS RESIDENT.  Must park down the road. Might not like it but rules are rules.   my wheel set up  a 4x4 for stability (picked up at the dump) , tried a 2x4 but too much flex for me.   2 - 20 inch bike tires, (dump) i want to go to 24 inch (looking at dump) 2 big lag bolts and 4 big washers (5 bucks)    and 2 old tie downs           this is set up for solo,  front gets adjusted when not solo.   the wheels get adjusted according to pivot point.    24 inch wheels will help with puling thru taller grass , rocks stumps etc.. 1 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I am looking for someone who can really teach me the proper set up and use of my new/used humminbird 598 DI SI .  will gladly travel a little bit and gladly fish with you for a couple/few hours.  I am in Nashua , Concord , Loudon areas Quote
mebisho Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I watched a you tube vid this morning on making a canoe cart, next week is vacation, making a cart is on the agenda. I have Thr different sets of wheels to experiment with Quote
Nashua Nev Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 i went with a very simple system , the original version i made i used a piece of 2 inch iron pipe and welded the bolts on to hold the wheels. the problem with round was there was too much movement and it rocked and slid too much.  the cut out in the middle of the 4x4 for the keel works perfect.   I have another one i made just for my jon boat. its wider and has 2 grooves for the keel to sit in.  I tried to give it to the guy i sold my jon boat to , he just laughed and said no thank you. works excellent for even just moving it around the yard.   I am in Nashua if anyone wants it for their use.
