Backwoodsbasser Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I grew up next to big island and have plenty of access for boat or shore. I haven't yet pin pointed a good smallie hold however I would think boulder cover might do well. If u have navionics I've pinned tons of structure on the map. Caught a fat bellies LM last year across from Colette's grove on an under water rock point Runnin off the island Quote
clr9933 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014  I finally got my boat and trailer fixed and was able to get out for a short time on Sunday afternoon. I started out throwing a Rage Craw with a bullet weight and alternating between a jerkbait and lipless crank and wasn't getting any action. I switched over to a square bill crankbait and hooked up with a real nice one on my second cast that came off at the boat. I got this largemouth a few casts later... not too big but they're all fun. Hope everyone had a good weekend of fishing whether you caught something or not! 4 Quote
Fly_Fisherman Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Â First official video of Jitterbug and I! Beware we get excessively profane at one point so we apologize. Thanks for watching! 3 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted April 29, 2014 Super User Posted April 29, 2014 Faaantastic, everyone!  NH Fisher, you too, buddy, and nice fish. I'm gonna be there Saturday with Deaknh. Hopefully I'll get into some better fish. See ya out there! Quote

jaystraw Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 NIce fish and video.  When I hooked into the SMB in my profile pic I was going "HOLY *****, HOLY *****, HOLY *****""! Then I realized I was less than 20 feet from a bunch of chicks sunbathing.  I apologized, and then started up again when I got her in the boat. 3 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 We gotta start watching our language out there... LOL, we lost it a little bit... Well, I'm not exactly a good example all the time, but you're right, you never know when your early footage is going to be famous! Also would kinda like to see ya get that fish back in the water sooner. Especially a pre spawn fish. We gotta make sure our babes are well taken care of! Very cool to watch the footage. I'm definitely using my GoPro more this year. Keep it up!! Actually, why don't you guys bring the canoe, and come back to where we just fished Saturday. It'll be a mini BR reunion. 2 Quote

It'll be a mini BR reunion.  I was going to say something about that Shane, I had that fish out of the water for way too long... And yeah exactly, the language that Fly_Fisherman and I were using certainly doesn't make us look professional, and we are both well mannered intelligent kids... The video doesn't express that, but we are well behaved, and watching the video the behavior kinda made me cringe. We both agree the clip doesn't make us look good... You guys will see in our future videos that are edited much more and where the videos will actually be us fishing and talking about the fishing trip and what's going on... What was displayed in this video doesn't represent the class that we have and who we are. We just put that video up because we were excited about the fish...  And that's a great idea! I know we are taking our SATs this coming weekend or the one after that so we're going to be taking them and or studying this weekend most likely... We'll be in touch, that will be sweet! 1 Quote
je1946 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Jitterbug and Fly fisherman nice video, one thing I might want to make you guys aware of is your fishing standing up in a canoe with no life jackets that I can see, water temps in the 40s I'll say no more other than that water is mighty cold, and you'll be very surprised how quickly it'll sap the strength right out of you if you fall in or tip over. Not trying to tell you what to do, but........ Speaking of a mini BR reunion, I think it would be fun to start getting one together. I know it's nearly impossible to find a date that everyone can make but maybe we could have one in the spring/ early summer and one in the fall... Hopefully between the two most of us could make one of them. Seeing as this is a southern NH thread I would say it's fair to pick a place in central/southern NH. I don't want to get carried away too quickly, but if this sounds like something any of you would like to do then speak up and we can make it happen! 2 Quote
Fly_Fisherman Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Yeah we definitely need to work on our language for when we become professionals, however we do always make sure to have our flotation devices on. I'm not sure why we didn't this time but it could have been a huge mistake! I definitely learned from our little mishap last summer. On another note, after S.A.Ts on Saturday me and Jitterbug will most likely be back at it again and I'll be filming the trip for another video! 1 Quote
PLombard68 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I know of a public canoe/jonboat/kayak launch. Really? Where is it at if you don't mind me asking? Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 Really? Where is it at if you don't mind me asking? When you take the road off of 111 to get to the keyed launch, take your first right  and follow it down almost to the end. On the right hand side there is a couple of small signs posted on trees, and a small parking area for 2 or 3 cars. It looks like someone's personal property, but it's not. There is a small stairway leading to a dock, thats the launch. When you park, leave your car to the right of the launch, as to not block the stairs, there's a large pine tree, go to the right of that. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 It's also detailed in Clarks NH fishing book. Quote

Is it for Atkinson town residents only or can the public launch there? I have a kayak that I would love to launch there. Quote

Super User deaknh03 Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 take waters edge road, then right on stickney road, the launch is near the end. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 it's a state launch. Quote
PLombard68 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 it's a state launch. Oh okay. I found this website that someone said ti was Atkinson residents only. http://www.paddling.net/launches/showLaunch.html?lid=14752 Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 It's not posted as a residents only, and it's in Hampstead, and maintained by the state, so no worries there. I have used it many times over the years, never a problem. Be respectful when launching and nobody bothers you. I'm pretty sure the person posting on that site got it mixed up. There is a public, Atkinson residents only, launch, in Atkinson, just not this one. Quote

Pick a place that even the guys with small boats can handle. Everyone that has a boat, bring it and a non-boater. Then we can random pick boaters to non boaters. We could even make it interesting by making it a mini tournament. Everyone throws in 20 bucks, and the winning 5 from any boat, wins the whole pot. Pictures on rulers, not livewell fish. 3 Quote
