Nashua Nev Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 a bunch of these this morning at the Nashua river (this is the longest one) and 12 smallmouth to go with them. (The biggest smallmouth was 15 1/2) was up at the Merrimack river up in the Concord area for the smallmouth tonight. Nothing big but still some fun fishing with the 14 yr old in the canoe  Quote
YungAngler Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Vermont is the best state around man. I plan on moving there next fall with my girlfriend if all falls into place I love hunting and fishing up there its like the only piece left of true nature in the country in my opinion. It feels untouched way up there, especially being so close to the border. I really like the Northeast Kingdom as well, however, I've only fished a few smaller ponds in that area. I'm going to plan a few trips next summer, one being Wilgus State Park on the Connecticut River. It seems like a really cool park with direct access to the river. mhtranger Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Nice fish. You look like you went swimming for him.....No rain where I am. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 It was pouring!!! I did go into the water to release him though haha... This fish didn't just suck it under it hammered it and went about 1.5ft out of the water in the process... I was debating tossing my phone on shore and getting in the water to land the fish (I was standing on a rock) but I just had to work him through the cover... The hit though was incredible, it went sooo high!! 3 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 13, 2013 Super User Posted September 13, 2013 That's cool, man! That fish is bigger than 4lbs, especially at 21". More like 5. Quote

bobh64 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Haven't done much NH water fishing these couple weeks mostly Maine except for Winnie last Sat fished along Rattlesnake before heading back to Winter Harbor it was a rough windy day Swells between 2-4 ft. Did get about a dozen smallies between the two of us the biggest about 2lbs. The cold front just stayed the whole day instead of moving out like the weather guy said. 1/2 ounce green pumpkin tubes were the winner that day. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Any good froggin spots on Winni? Quote
bobh64 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Any good froggin spots on Winni? Lee Mills leading to Greens Basin would be my top stop. The Basin located in the Winter Harbor and Paugus Bay are next in line for good frogging largemouth action in my opinion. 1 Quote
MikeOGNR Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Heading to the Nashua River tonight. Taking a break from my hunting season for 2 days to try and catch a hog before the seasons out. Wish me luck guys will post later if I get anything 1 Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 How is the fishing this late in the season? Â I may get a chance to fish this weekend for only the 2nd time. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 19, 2013 Super User Posted September 19, 2013 You timed it just right, Derrick. You can usually find a pattern quick this time of year, and there are some fatties, because they are starting the fall feed up. Try moving baits, like swim jigs, spinnerbaits, and shallow cranks to find active fish, then stay fishing the same depth you find 'em at. I like to go with HUGE presentation swim jigs, looking for the biggest fish around. Lobster or Space Monkey on a 1/4 oz bluegill swim or brush jig. 1 Quote
MikeOGNR Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Caught a 4lb 2oz largie last night and a 2.46 largie. All in all good day on the Nashua River gonna try again Friday maybe somewhere different or more up North from me. Would post pics, but can't seem to get them to upload still. Quote
MikeOGNR Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Also does anyone know of other boat launches on the Nashua River?? I'd love to fish diffrent sections, but the only one I know of is Stello's Stadium Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Anyone forget or lose something at Lincoln Pond in Amherst NH , Probably last Sat night as i found something Sunday morning. Let me know what you left and i will get it back to you, Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 There are only 2 public launches on the Nashua river at the upper side. Above the dam at Stellos and off of Natick street which is off of braod street.   I do not know of any other public launches. There are private land places to put in if you know someone.  From Stellos you can get up to Runnells bridge in Hollis. Then it gets too rocky Quote

MrBassMan Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Bass Are Biting Like Crazy @ Powdermill Pond in Bennington. I went out this evening and nailed two nice Large Mouth and a little one in my Fishing Kayak. One weighed 3.7 Lbs and the other weighed 4.9 Lbs. The small one I did not take the time to weigh out, he probably went about a pound and a half. I threw them all back, they deserve some more time in the water. I hit the Pond @ 6:20 Pm and fished till 8:20 Pm. They started feeding on the top as I hit the water and the jumped persisted for those two hours. The only reason I left was because I was having trouble spotting my Hula Popper even though the moon is full. All three were caught on a Hula Popper Green and Black skirt. Biggest Catch from Powder Mill was a whopping 7.3 Lb LargeMouth. I almost skipped this Pond way back because people were telling me they only were catching 1-3 pounders, their just not hitting the spots, Fish the Southern end of the Pond, there is a good number of whoppers in there, looking to catch my 10 pounder soon from that area.  Recommended times to hit the Pond- 530 AM-8:30 AM / 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM. Afternoon times are hit and miss, I tend to stick near the banks in this pond, but you got to use a weedless Texas rig because there are a lot of weeds throughout the pond and you need some weight to get your plastics to the bottom.   Greg Lake: I fished Greg Lake two days ago from 4:30-6:30 PM. Did not have much luck, caught one bass about a pound or so, and only one other strike. I switched from 3 colors of Senko worms, to a Strike King Rodent, to a crayfish, nothing was really interested. I am going to hit Gregg Lake tomorrow morning around 5:45 AM, I will let you know how it goes. I am still trying to get the peak times downs on this lake, the Bass have a mind of their own there.  Can't really give you a recommended time because I have only fished this lake about a half dozen times. Biggest Catch there for me was a 4 lb Largemouth. Quote
MrBassMan Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Also Anyone here members of a good Bass fishing club Near Antrim NH? I really need to join one. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Any pics from your fishing trip to PowderMill... Sounds like a nice day! Quote

I know you fish it a lot that's why I am wondering more or less looking for some insight to the river. Quote
