MikeOGNR Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Haven't posted in a bit, but last friday I caught a nice 4lber right off some lily pads on baboosic lake. He was quite the fighter. Quote
MikeOGNR Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Most of the lakes I have fished (Maine) the large mouth are off and the small mouth are finishing spawning. With the crazy rain storm we had during the last full moon you might still see large mouth that skipped the last spawn do there needs, its not uncommon to see beds all summer.just not as many. Not to get off topic either, but this post is the 1000 post on this thread. WOOOOOHOOOO YEAAA NEW HAMPSHIRE 2 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 @luvfishing... go to google earth and download it. There are others sites like it also. type in belmont nh top left you will see lots of water. then after you get a name of the water , google it. is rollins pond in gilmanton too far ? also on the side of 129 near venco wings in loudon , good little spot and crooked pond in loudon. not sure about much of the places further up 106. nmv Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Hey all. Got a surprise day off today and my canoe too heavy by myself. I am looking for recommendations on places to fish from shore either on the Merrimack river concord south to Manchester or any other pond/lake in that area and east to Epping. Thanks. Quote
PLombard68 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Hey all. Got a surprise day off today and my canoe too heavy by myself. I am looking for recommendations on places to fish from shore either on the Merrimack river concord south to Manchester or any other pond/lake in that area and east to Epping. Thanks. Dubes pond, Suncook river, Catamount pond, Pawtuckaway lake, Deer pond, Lamprey and Exeter rivers. It's a good idea to check out google earth or a NH topo map. You can find so many small ponds, lakes, rivers and brooks to fish in. Quote
MikeOGNR Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Going on a camping trip this weekend in Gorham NH past the Franconia Notch. Anyone got any good places to fish? Quote

You can find so many small ponds, lakes, rivers and brooks to fish in. Thanks, I was able to hit Freese's Pond in Deerfield and caught two 2lb bass. I then tried Suncook river in Pembroke and caught a 10 inch trout. I also tried Horseshoe pond in Concord for a bit with no luck. I'm going to keep this list and try a few of the others on Thursday. I live right next to the Lamprey river in Deerfield but it seems really shallow here and I have only caught chubs / fallfish. I know it gets deeper in Raymond, but I haven't found a good spot to fish from shore yet. Quote
PLombard68 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Going on a camping trip this weekend in Gorham NH past the Franconia Notch. Anyone got any good places to fish? Gorham? that's not even close to Franconia Notch. If you're going to Gorham you will be on the other side of the WMNF off of 16. I suggest the Androscoggin River for best results. Try Reflections pond off of route 2 going east from Gorham. If you are going to try the Franconia area which is about 30 miles away, you can try Echo and Profile lakes. 1 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 got skunked this morning in the river, went back about 8 pm for 1 hour, not skunked any more. 2 right at 4 1/2 , 1 real long , 1 with a huge gut. 5 more smaller ones. my battery died just enough on my phone to still take pics but no flash after the first 2 fish. 2 Quote
bobh64 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Hitting Winni next Weds, has anyone used the new public boat ramp at the old Downings place? also any spots to hit for largemouth in the Alton bay area? Quote
MikeOGNR Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Went to Flints Pond on wednesday caught 4 fish total and my girlfriend caught a 3lber. Today went out to Rocky Pond in Hollis caught 2 2lbers. Hoping this weekend I can get bigger then my latest 4lber Quote
Tyfisher Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Thinking about trying Turtle pond or Lily pond tomorrow. Have only been fishing a few small local places and have been getting tired of beating the same shore. Any thoughts? I'm in the Dover/Durham area. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I dont know Lily but Turtle in Concord could be a good choice. It gets a ton+ of fishing pressure on the weekends, Being Friday you should beat the crowds and the fish should be the most relaxed. My opinion. So much activity on the weekends i think makes them skittish easier. it gives then all week to chill out. Does this make sense? Try Rollins pond in Gilmanton for an hour also. There is lots of shore fishing available at Rollins if you dont have a small canoe or Kayak. No gas motors at Rollins. all you really need is a paddle. Turtle has some nice fish in it. Fish the heavy weeds and hang on. Quote
Tyfisher Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Thanks, Nev, I'll plan to check out Turtle after class tomorrow. Will also plan to get over to Gilmanton as well, always happy to try some shore-friendly places. Thanks again. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Going to Otter lake today after finals, hopefully i'll have some decent pics... Everone else who is going out today good luck!!!! Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I got my new reel in yesterday (quantum antix) I haven't had any problems with it yet. If there was a problem on the first day that would be a major problem lol. I chose the antix because I can use baitcasters with either hand and the lefty one was like $50 or $60 and the righty was $80 at tackle warehouse. Quote
PLombard68 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Went out to a local pond yesterday and FINALLY! had a productive day bass fishing. Caught 15 of them with most being under 1 1/2. Got a few over 2lbs. Caught most of them on a small hula popper and one big guy on a gulp minnow (these things work wonders). All of them Largemouths. Also caught a pretty big sunfish. Here are some photos. Quote
nmv Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Brother and I just got done Turkey pond in Concord. We each got our PB 5 lbs each. I'll try to get pictures up later. EDIT: My brother in green his fish was 5lb 3oz, I'm in tan and my fish was 5lb 1 oz. Our previous PBs were both 3lb 8oz so this was a nice surprise. 3 Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Yesterday a few friends and I went to Otter lake, couldn't get anything of any size. My biggest was 1.43 and my friend's was the same, LOL (HUGE). A few days prior my friend got a decent one at Melendy... 2.5ish And here are some pics of my Tackle Warehouse order... Quote
Nashua Nev Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Skunked this morning in the Nashua River, I will make up for this mishap tomorrow. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I'll be fishing lake Massasecum today, maybe some of the Contoocook too... I'll post my results... Quote
