NEjitterbugger Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 nice job...  time to crack the 6.  tomorrow would be a good day to do it.  Heck yeah! I was 5oz off last fall, Really want to get a 6 pounder this year... Flyfisherman, our other friend, and I all wanna break the six barrier this year.  My PB is 5-11 The kid in the photo above PB 5.57, close to 5-8 or 5-9 Flyfisherman is a little over 6 already I believe, not to sure...   Going out today after school... No more lacrosse practice = more fishing!!!! ------------  Just remember , you are only in High School once in a life time. Enjoy those years with other kids your age including , Lacrosse , football etc... etc... you will never get those years back.  My 20 yr old son regrets quitting high school team sports because he wanted to work 6 hours a week for minimum wage.  He didnt regret it then but does now.   There will be other times to fish , but no other times for high school sports or extra stuff.   Just saying you can enjoy both.    My lacrosse season just ended... I play 3 sports in the 3 sports seasons for school... Quote

Last year I had a 7 pounder on at about dusk and he jumped up hit the dock he was under and broke my line its all just about time on the water. I know ill get the big one soon just gotta be there at the right time of the day with the right presentation. Quote
jaystraw Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Hey Mike you might want to think about hitting Halfmoon pond in Hancock. That's where I got my personal best a few years ago. Also it's perfect for the canoe. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Got out for a quick run after school for about an hour and a half... Â Â Â 1 Quote

John603 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Fished through the weekend despite the terrible weather. Made it to Merrymeeting Lake, Winni, and Half Moon Lake. Pulled 5 or so smallies out of Merrymeeting off beds with the biggest one pictured below. Had some tough luck in the rain on Winni, caught 2 largemouth and a couple of monster pickeral in about three hours of fishing. The biggest was largemouth was right around 3.5 pounds. Half Moon was tough because there a ton of pickeral but I managed to pull 7 bass out of there but nothing bigger than 2.5 pounds.  Going Striper fishing tomorrow for the first time this year. I'm pumped on that!   1 Quote

bobh64 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Did Swains today 3 fish, nothing on the beds and the water was high from all the rains we've had. Had some gale force winds that makes it fun to be on the lake. Bad day to wear my shorts. Quote

NEjitterbugger Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yesterday afternoon FlyFisherman and I went to honeypot. Landed one 1 pounder, we had lots of hits on topwater frogs though, just couldn't get the hook set down. It was the first time we were fishing frogs.. Very fun. The pads are almost fully grown if not fully grown... Quote

NEjitterbugger Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Beautiful fish, jitterbug. I'm still trying to break the 4lb mark. Can be hard to find good water available from shore.  Just to clarify, my friend caught that when we were fishing earlier, not me... It is a gorgeous fish though! And I am too trying to break through the poundage barrier, I need a 6. The one in my avatar pic is 5oz off...  This year my biggest LMB was this 3 pounder, and biggest smallies were these 2 pound 5 oz and 2 pound 1 oz... I really wanna get on those big girls soon...   Quote
MikeOGNR Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Usually come summer time for some odd reason in the morning and at night I start to get into the bigger fish. Quote

PLombard68 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Hi guys, was wondering if anyone has ever tried Harantis Lake in Chester? And if so, what access did you use? I've  heard it has a great LMB population with some good size bass being caught but have no idea where to access it. Seeing it is right in my neighborhood I would love to try it. Also, has anyone tried Dubes Pond in Hooksett? I also heard good things about this place as well. Quote
