PLombard68 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I like fishing Tower Hill Pond when I'm fishing from shore. I love Tower Hill. Beautiful place to relax without tons of people. Have you ever caught any hold-overs there? I've heard there are some huge hold-over browns in there but I never hooked into one. I've caught lots of stockies in the 1 1/2 - 2lb range though. Also caught a few LMB but nothing very big. 1 Quote

I have been there many times but always bring my bass equipment instead of my trout stuff. I'm usually fishing there during the summer when the trout would be deep. I have got some decent bass there 2.5 - 3 lbs. I should go there sometime this month with my trout gear and see what happens. Quote
jaystraw Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Stumpfield was still about 40% iced over on Monday. I'm going to be out in that area today and will check Massesecum and some other spots. Congrats on those who have already caught fish!!! Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Went to fishing auction last night, got a brand new Ambassadeur for $20 paired with a 6'6 MH rod (not sure what type of rod it was...) Also got some boxes of lures, tackle bags, rain gear... My dads friend spent $1,200 on stuff to resell (lots of deep sea reels, rods, tackle bags, lures, flies, etc...) It was a good time... Can't wait to get out this weekend, hope we all get some fish! I also got some 17# fluoro... Quote
llPa1nll Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 So 1st fish on 3/31, man it was cold and super slow... 1 Quote
jaystraw Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Massesecum is about 80% uncovered, with just the eastern side of the lake and launch frozen. Powder Mill Pond is completely open. 1 Quote

nhbassin Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 All the wind this week has made the spinnerbait bite pretty good. Ive done well the last 4 days in a row, but everything ive been getting is between 2-3 pounds. Anyone else having better luck with 3+ pounders? 3 Quote
MikeOGNR Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I am looking to give spinnerbaits a try this year there in my go to arsenal along with a 7 inch rubber worm and a Rapala Jerkbait, but I never really got to fish them good enough to make them worth whiled nor have the produced anything outstanding any tips on them??? Quote
nhbassin Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I use a 1/2 ounce black spinnerbait with dual colorado blades. I only throw it if there is enough wind to make some solid ripples on top of the water or if it is dark out. In cooler water I use a straight retreive at a slow-medium rate, but will speed it up and twitch it more as the water warms up to trigger fish that are just following it in. Trailer hooks are a MUST with spinnerbait as well. Hope that helps. Super User Shane J Posted April 19, 2013 Super User Posted April 19, 2013 Nice one, bwillis. I got attacked by an angry daddy goose at Hoyt Rd a few years ago. Quote
