clr9933 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Just fished about 40 feet of open water at a pond in Concord with nhbassin. We were able to see plenty of sunnies up shallow and we both hooked pickerel. Was really hoping for some largemouth but at least things are getting active! These next few days should definitely help get rid of some ice. 1 Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Hey guys, most of my fishing from now til about mid June will be at night because of AAU basketball and lacrosse. Aside from topwater baits how do you target bass in the dark??? Quote

Mainebass1984 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 NEjitterbugger- I have had great luck using a buzzbait and spinnerbait at night. Fish them around thickest weed beds. Shane J - 9-1 is a huge largemouth in new england. You got a picture of that hawg ? Do you fish mostly southern NH ? It seems like you like to fish a jig. So do I they may not catch numbers but they sure do catch lunkers. Lake Champlain is an amazing bass fishery. I fish it as much as I can. If the bite is on you can catch over 100 bass a day over 2 lbs. I think bassmaster magazine rated it in the top 5 bass lakes invthe country. Quote
MikeOGNR Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Anyone go fishing near Milford, NH yet i've been looking for any lake that's relatively clear near me Quote

Aside from topwater baits how do you target bass in the dark??? I have used a black spinnerbait with two colorado blades on it. They'll feel the thump of the blades and come hit it. Quote

Nashua Nev Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 There are 2 places i use to put the canoe , kayak or boat in the Nashua river. Behind Stellos there is an excellent boat ramp, from there i head left and go straight to the island and fish aound the island and the shore. and head up river from there. To the left of the island is tons of weeds, i fish them a lot with a white mouse or frog. Many days i will get no further than that island in 2 hours.  Also off of broad st there is a left onto tilton st.  there is another ramp there. because i have only a small motor and boat i do not get too far up river. The Nashua river is one of my favorite places to fish. BUT, river fishing can be tough. Lots of water, lots of area. If you can find fish in a huge river you can find them in any pond. I fish the Merrimack and the Nashua a lot.  Smallies in the Merrimack , Largemouth in the Nashua. BIG Pickerel in both. I love catching big pickerel. I want to get to the CT river area and catch a big pike. I am also going to try to catch some walleye this year , but i dont know where yet.  Many people say that the best rea of fishing the Nashua river is way up at the Hollis line. It takes me 25 minutes to get there with my little boat so i rarely get there to fish.  Lots and lots of fish in the Merrimack river. Quote
nhbassin Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Hey Nev, Ive seen pictures online of people cathing decent walleye out of the Merrimack in Manchester and Bedford around the Goffs Falls Park area of the river. Let me know if you end up trying it out this spring. Quote
unhbass37 Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Post where yoru favorite place to fish is and why. Thatll be a good starting thread Haha. Mike there are alot of good people on here, but to be honest most will lie about where they caught it due to they don't want to give up there secret spot. As a matter of fact that is true for just about every fresh water fisherman. I've found this out many many times. Personally as long as your a catch and release type of guy I will share my info. 1 Quote

Me, I got a bunch of crap I'm trying to take care of, so very little time to get out anywhere for the next week or two. And yeah, fishing with your kid is the best feeling. Mine's been all over me to take him out. He's learning jigs this year. 1 Quote
