Went out yesterday on Cunningham Pond in Peterborough. Water is crazy clear! I mean you can make out objects on the bottom in 15ft+ water. Fishing was good. Caught 10 total, smallest was 2.5lbs. I did catch/see 4 Smallies on beds! Yes I said it! Beds! I couldn't believe it. Water was just over 60°.

Went out this morning on Pleasant Pond in Francistown. Water is a bit colder still. Managed 4 fish total, biggest was just over 4lb.

I am hoping this rain will bring water levels back to where they should be.

Tight lines all!

Nice job on Cunningham! Be careful parking there in the lot if you are not a Peterborough resident. I've heard they can be pretty tough and it's supposedly residents only. I'm assuming they do not care too much until after Memorial Day.

I got out yesterday as well and hit the smallies pretty well. Water temp was 58-60 and there were some beds around, but I found them mostly on/around wood.

good luck everyone!

Hit Quabbin yesterday, 10 Smallies with 4 at 4 -4.5lbs all on jerkbaits and jigs, wind was a real big factor as it started howling out of the south at about 20 25 mph, water temps inside 50-53, outside on the main lake 50 to 53. Some of you posted having a get together at the Q, your boat has to be inspected and washed to put it in the water, 25hp four stroke or 20hp two stroke is max. If your thinking of renting a boat on the wkend better be there real early as the rentals go very quickly. I go there often with my own boat during the wk and often i'm looking for another person, if someone would like to come along give me a shout.

Hit Massabesic on Thursday ( 19th ) afternoon. Wate temps ranged from 61 to 69 in some areas. Caught a few nice smallies on tubes and cranks. Found some great spots to fish on that lake. Need to hit it again soon.

I have a place in Meredith on the Center Harbor side by water so I usually fish that area. However, the lake is a bit warmer in the northern section so while the boat was still on the trailer before it gets launched for the summer I decided to trailer up to that area and fish out of lees mills. 9 smallies and 2 largemouth in about 3 hours. Got off to a slow start but it picked up after the first hour. Got the girlfriend onto her first smallie ever and what do you know it was the biggest of the day at 3.4 pounds.

Got out today on Cunningham Pond, I figured I would take advantage of the day while it was nice finally. Did quite well, 10 fish total. 6 Largemouth and 4 Smallies. Biggest was 4.12lb Smallie and a 5.02lb Largemouth. Caught all of them on jigs. Tried Cranks, Spinnerbait, Drop Shot and Top Water before I left and the only thing I could get a strike on was a jig. Saw some Smallies on beds, but not many. Water temp was 56deg.

Awesome day on Winni bass are making beds on the northern part, caught the majority of them right on the shore line under the brushes. Also caught a nice 5 lb lmb though some baby lilli pads.

My son landed into a huge fish in the Merrimack river where it meets the Contoocook river up in the Pennacook area. he managed to get it to shore but not out of the water before the line broke or was cut by teeth. We both said what a huge pickerel, biggest we had ever seen. easily over 2 feet long and huge in diameter. It was on a huge chuggin spook almost 5 inch long and we could not even see the plug in its mouth. my question is was it most likely a pike? are there pike in the Merrimack or Contoocook river? I have never seen or caught one. He was using 30 lb braided line so we are guessing either the line was cut by teeth or other abrasion and was weak or possibly the knot came out. Other than that the pickerel have been hitting everything the past 2 weeks and very few bass for us. We have fished Stumpfield, the Merrimack river and Nashua river.

I'm not sure if anyone has been here yet, but it looks nice!

Got a nice one at Massabesic in Manchester on the 7th. Walked in on one of the fire roads off 28, dropped a plactic worm over a log just offshore and caught him on his bed.

Got out on Skatatukee Lake today, weather wasn't the greatest but the fishing was pretty good. I had never been there before, it's a nice spot. Water was 55° and Smallies were on beds. Those were easy pickings. Rest seemed to be pre-spawning with fat bellies cruising flats. Caught all fish on crankbaits or a jig on the beds. I will definitly go back.

Nice job! Any size to the smallies there?

I've always wanted to fish Statutakee...does it look like I could launch my nitro and have room to park the truck and trailer? I've seen the launch area, and it did not look too big.

Biggest Smallie I caught was 3.5lbs, nothing huge. But it was raining/55deg out. I would suspect that there are some nice fish in there. While I was there Marine Patrol launched and parked towards the left, if your looking at the launch. Enough room for his rig, you should be fine as well. Just have to watch when your backing in and out as there isn't much distance from the road to the launch. A nice place overall and I will certainly be going back soon.

Freeses pond ? I have a 17 ft tracker tourney tx and 4 wheel drive suburban. Wondering if any one has launched a similar rig. I looked at the access last weekend. I think I could get in ok, just a bit worried about the soft loose gravel pulling out. Are there any restrictions there on gas motor or horse power ? My rig is 70 hp.

Had my clubs first tourney on Newfound on 5/6 and had some pretty good weights. The winning team boated 4 smallies weighing a total of 17lbs12oz with his kicker of 5lbs14oz, it was a pig. I had 3 weighing 10lbs10oz with a kicker of 4lbs14oz. Pic below, fishing was tough but the ones we caught were big. That place is close to being on fire, probably already is since it happened last week. Great smallies.

Yeah, buddy! That's what I'm talkin' about! What depth were you fishing?

Posted

Shallow shallow. Saw tons of pairs cruising the shallow beach areas 4'-8' but they were not interested in anything. Caught them all on a gold deep diving suspending jerkbait, jerking the heck out of it. Felt like my arm was going to fall off by the end of the day. That was a while ago, I'm sure they are all shallow now and probably bedding. That place is ridiculous during spawn and post spawn. Definitely going back soon.

This is the lady in my club with the 5lb 14oz smallie. Look close, she only weighed the 'bigger one', so the other was clearly over 5lbs as well.
