buzzfrog Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 so dicks had a clearance sale and i had a few coupons so i ended up getting some havoc on sale and picked up one of those kits with a lil bit of eatch, for like 5 bux.. any way pit boss and devil spear all the way, the grass pig may be a nice one with more fishing. i fish shakey alot so the new larry nixon may be good to. but i have no clue on the craw fatty, the other craw, also have a weird type creature by skeet reese, not sure the name. Anyway what your fav and what how do ya rig and fish.. Quote
Packard Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 They all work pretty good. Check youtube for videos on how to rig them by the pros who designed them. Quote
Jake P Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Favorite: Pit Boss, i love it in big Texan for flipping into light- moderate cover. Least favorite: all others. I have not tried any other havoc plastic because none of them look appealing to me and i have heard more negative than positive about the smash tube and hawk hawg. The juice worm to me is just a power worm. I am becoming a strike king homer so maybe that persuades my opinions a little Quote

Super User deep Posted April 5, 2012 Super User Posted April 5, 2012 I liked the grass pig on a weighted hook; but that's the only one I tried, and even that not a lot. Quote
RyneB Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 i love the smash tube and devil spear. I love the long slender profile of the tube. And the devil spear is my plastic of choice behind a punch skirt. Quote
buzzfrog Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 cool, yea big texan is my fav in pit boss aswell, i like the black devil spear and even rig the spear as a swim bait Quote
Super User webertime Posted April 5, 2012 Super User Posted April 5, 2012 Pit Boss by a mile. I have caught fish with it on a C-Rig, Flipping and Swimming it T-Rigged (1/4-3/8oz weights) as a jig trailer and even drop shotting it. Okachobee, Bk/Bl, Green Pumpkin are my 3 favorites. Slip a glass rattle into it and flip it with a punch skirt into the wood and hold on! Craw Fatty... Hate it. Quote
basshunter81 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I love the Craw Fatty! Awesome action with a great profile. I’ve killed them on this thing. I have not given the others a fair shot yet. Quote
loodkop Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I enjoy the devil spear as pitching bait. I have not really fished to much of the others but the grass pig might get a workout tomorrow. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 6, 2012 Global Moderator Posted April 6, 2012 Another vote for the Pit Boss, Big Texan color too. Haven't caught a single fish on the Devil spears I bought, just can't make them work. Love the grass pigs, bottom hoppers, craw fattie, and I'm excited to see the new craw they're supposed to be coming out with, sounds like it's going to be like a chigger craw, only in the Havoc line up. jkarol24 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I realy enjoy the craw fatty on a jig when im looking for a bigger profile. As well, it makes a jig skip very well due to how wide and flat it is. Only negative is that usually only 1 of the craws will flap at a time... The pit boss has awsome action and is also a good addition to a punch skirt. I'm also liking the looks of the smash tube, just havn't had the time to fish it. Quote
wisconsin heat Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 love the pit boss in california! i also like the slop craw behind a punch skirt, but it didn't get any bites without one. Devils spear is good too. I also have the grass pig and duece, but i havnt caught fish on either Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted April 7, 2012 Super User Posted April 7, 2012 Pit Boss is probably turning into my #1 Pitch bait. It's just right in terms of action and profile. 1 Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Pit Boss is probably turning into my #1 Pitch bait. It's just right in terms of action and profile. X2 Quote
kylek Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I bought a bunch of these a few months ago. Mostly the pit boss and the craw fattie in a wide variety of colors. I have only fished them a handfull of times and have never had a bite. I should probably give them a few more tries, but I end up going to the yum dingers and catch fish. I might just try and sell what I have left and pick up something else!!! Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 30, 2012 Super User Posted April 30, 2012 I've only used the pit boss, and I really like it as a pitchin' and flippin' bait, but it works good for casting too with a lighter weight. Really good for working cover. Quote
tnbassfisher Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I forgot that I had even bought a pack of pit bosses. I'm gonna have to go give them a good go. Quote
Shad_Master Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Pit Boss' absolutely suck - if you have any, send 'em to me and I'll get rid of 'em for ya Quote
wormycrm99 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I have been catching some fish on the caw fatty rigged on a jika rig. I really have not tried the other Havoc baits much. Quote
