tugsandpulls Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 got a new sellus rod i like it but the reel seat keeps unscrewin im using 10# test and a inline spinner ( 1/2 oz ) think that might be causing it but i dont know its a pain every 10 cast or so tighting it up any suggestions? Quote
Packard Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 You could use electrical tape on the threads of the reel seat. I don't see why the rod would be doing that unless it is defective somehow. Quote
tugsandpulls Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 i had a berkley amp rod do this too tried tighting it too much cracked it ill try the tape thanks Quote
Crookedneck Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 If over tightened the reel seat hood can crack or you can strip the threads on them. No weight lifting before tightening your reel down. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 5, 2012 Super User Posted April 5, 2012 Just leave it and tighten up when needed, you won't do any damage. I've that happen to me, it isn't a big deal. A cardboard shim under the reel foot may help, but don't over tighten. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Teflon tape. x2 You can tape the threads and wrap the feet as a type of shim as well if needed. Quote
