No matter how well you know someone, you don't know EVERYTHING. Some things you'll take to your grave, other things you just don't think about much, but when you DO share it, no one can believe it's something YOU did. Maybe you ate grilled squirrel, maybe you went skydiving, maybe you were a phone- sex operator, maybe you went on a vision- quest, maybe you used to be a woman... today we wanted to know: WHAT HAVE YOU TRIED, ATTEMPTED OR SAMPLED THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULDN'T KNOW ABOUT?

A little lame, but I tried rattlesnake for the first (and last) time last Friday. Boney, tough as shoe leather, and not real tasty. But now I can say that I've tried it.

Uh, the rattlesnake used to be a girl phone sex operator!

Don't go there. :)

I had an addiction.....gambling. I played the ponies, cards, bowled, golfed, casinos, blind pigs, real lucky to get out alive some nights. I started most days at the pool room, playing golf or pins on a Canadian snooker table and finished up at the 24 hour bowling alley early in the morning. I played or backed someone but money was on the line every day, it's never how good you are but how good you make the game. It's not all it's cracked up to be and I can't imagine a worse addiction, but I kicked it. Halloween night 1970 I'm at a Bacarat table at the International hotel in Las Vegas, I just got up took a cab to the airport flew to the first available destination which was L.A. and visited family there. My only regret came some 20 years later, my stepdaughter got married in Las Vegas and I refused to go, not wanting to test myself. I can now go anyplace where there is gambling and just be a voyeur. 40 years has gone by and I haven't made a bet.

Edit : My life totally changed when I got into the scrap metal biz in 1973 and the irony was the guy I was working for was a real hardcore gambler, I never let it bother me.

That's awesome, Snook. That's one helluva recovery.

I don't have anything, really, on those lines. Post surgery in the late nineties, I got to liking the pills. I had several surgeries successively and was on a pretty heavy dose of pain meds for about 18 months. After that, it was tough coming off them. I don't like taking them now for that very reason.

I tried being young once. Didn't work out very well. It was over before I knew it. Some of the youngsters on here might find it unbelievable that I was ever young.

I (and my daughter) both have two "IBA" (Iron Butt Association" certificates for long distance motorcycle endurance riding. When she was 15 years old we rode from Zanesville, OH to the Kansas Colorado border 1,167 miles in 19 hours, slept 5 hours and made another 460 miles to Montrose CO. That's a "Saddle Sore 1000" (1000+ miles in less than 24 hrs) and a "Bun Burner 1500" (1500+ miles in less than 36 hrs). We were gone for 11 days and averaged almost 800 miles a day for the whole trip. Memories that last a lifetime!

I get totally addicted to whatever hobby I am into at any given time and live the sport. Eat,sleep, breath and bleed that sport. I have been totally engulfed in a couple racing, shooting and fishing. It is much like an addiction!

Spent a few summers as a corner worker and emergency vehicle worker for sports car races. Got rather interesting at time being that close to cars running at speed. Doing the EV thing I used my personal Nissan Titan to pull cars from gravel traps, fun part was they only put a caution on the turn the car was at. To get there I got to run the track while cars were still racing. Fun times.

Got to love sports car racing. At lest they don't call a caution because a little bit of debris is in the track unlike NASCAR.

I have ate rabbit and cow tongue. I think the most bizarre thing I have ever ate was Chicken hearts, livers, and Gizzards. The hearts are very good. Nice and tender. The Gizzards are tuff. But also good. The livers taste like livers. People think I am nuts because I have had eaten rabbit, cow tongue and the chicken parts.

I would love to follow around Andrew Zimmerman for a year. Some of the foods he eats I would at lest try. If I didn't like them I would never heave to try them again.

Nuts for eating rabbit? I must be totally insane then, because I raise meat rabbits!

well I bet there are people on this fourm that have never had a chicken liver. I am just telling people it tatse like any cow liver I have ever had. As for the rabbit. I think people look at it as a cute cuddly thing. In my world and a lot of people I know there a pain in the butt. So why not gut and clean them. Then throw them on the grill for 30 minutes. Now I am hugery.

In my ethnic community cow's tongue, either roasted and pickled, are very popular and commonplace, chicken liver's too..........chicken liver's are a superb catfish bait too.

I think this is a challenge to get out there and so something completely insane! anyone have any ideas? Oh yea. I was made the mistake of listening to some friends and meeting up with a girl from a shady web dating site, she was a weirdo- Little did I know the meeting spot was a horse ranch after dark.

Food wise quite a few. Opossum, coon, squirrel, haggis, chitlins, pigs feet, hog jaws, beef tripe, nutra rat (aka Burris). The all time worst ever was at a party in the woods some friends and I went too. A buddy made stew from a road kill coyote. It tasted pretty decent, but I have probably never been sicker in my life.

Piercings, with the exception of a few most were at separate times. I've had my lower lip pierced in two different places. Two, two hole industrials in both ears. My ear lobes at a 12guage. My septum, both nostrils, upper bridge of nose, both eyebrows, my left cheek. My belly button had seven hoops going around it. My nipples eight separate times, (repiercings from having to remove them for various sports befored they had had time to heal.) The only constant through out all of this were my ears. All the others were done at separate times and then removed. So no I did not walk around with more than one maybe two facial piercings at a time.

This is a tattoo I have that most people don't know about. I always get a laugh at the dentists office.

lip002.jpg It's a little hard to make out but if you look hard enough you should be able to figure it out
