joebills78 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 My truck has 245hp my boat 250hp. Perfectly ok right?. My wife thinks I might have a slight water speed problem. I explained that the faster we get there the longer we can fish. Good enough reasoning, right? Besides you can't have too much horsepower can you? Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 Nice boat motor but it sounds like your truck motor sucks. lol Quote
Super User tomustang Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 You're asking on a fishing forum, you're ok. But if this was a car forum you'd be toast Quote
freebie Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 sounds like you need to upgrade the truck now Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted April 5, 2012 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted April 5, 2012 Nope, you can't have that. Now you have to go buy a bigger truck! Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted April 6, 2012 Super User Posted April 6, 2012 Personnaly, I think both are short on hp. When I feel like wiping the grin off a bunch of Triton drivers, I have two motors, I play with. One is 318 hp @ 6,100 rpm, the other is 326 hp @ 6,200 rpm. Either one will push my 20 Javelin over 80 mph with two people, livewell full and full gear and plenty of gas. My next project I'm considering is a 3.3 Rude @ 450 hp. For a tow truck, put a twin tubo's with six inch exhaust on a DuraMax. That'll take care of any hp and torque numbers anyone could want for tow vehicle. 1 Quote

Just when ya think ya know somebody! Lol. You've inspired a new post idea! Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted April 8, 2012 Super User Posted April 8, 2012 I deleted my long answer because I realized I had kinda hijacked someone else's post, but the short answer is: Yes I am, big time, and have been since I was a kid. I can put "The Tool Man" to shame. 1 Quote
MichBassMan Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Thats about a good ratio. And please don't take this the wrong way; BUT It always make me smile when I see a guy pulling a 20ft ranger, skeeter, etc with a rusty old beat up truck. It's nice to see his priority's are similar to mine. Quote
