Super User Sam Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 Louisiana bald eagle gets dead nutria to shore by swimming. Swimming starts at 1:10 so you may want to skip the eagle flying around trying to lift the dead nutria for the first minute. http://www.youtube.com/embed/87xNpOYOlQ4?rel=0 Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 That was awesome, never knew eagles could swim. Honestly had never really thought about it either. Still awesome video. Quote
scrutch Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Isn't a nutria just a groundhog? Or woodchuck? Quote
preach4bass Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Isn't a nutria just a groundhog? Or woodchuck? A A nutria is what you get when a beaver mates with an opossum. They have most of the features of a beaver, but an opossum tail. Quote

jeb2 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 A buddy of mine told me about eagles swimming a couple of years ago. He witnessed it in Canada on a fly in trip. A bald eagle swam a large dead northern pike to shore. Very cool to see it on a video though! Quote
