Super User islandbass Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 Dang! Everything was alright until they got to the second treble! I won't spoil it for the others but it brought back the one memory I have in which I had to have an I.V. needle (when they were huge) inserted in my arm and the nurse missed the vein in my arm she was aiming for three times before she got it. Fishing Cowgirl Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 ohhhI That made me cringe at the second one. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 Make it a chatterbait, and in the face it would match mine from two weeks ago.... Couldn't get mine out, after a trip to the hospital and 6 stitches later it doesn't look to bad. I do have pics but they are rather nasty so won't post them. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 ok...no more treble hooks allowed on my boat! EVER! Jeff Quote
fisher of bass Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 ouch is right, kvd shoulda tied the knot on the second hook, it hasnt happened to me ''YET'' but have been close a couple of times, kinda scary being focused on fishing and your hat gets ripped off your head. Quote
Teh Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 You think I would get funny looks wearing a Full Metal Jousting outfit fishing from the bank? Ouch..... Quote
scrutch Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 You know that dude was putting on a tough guy face! "it's ok, keep fishing KVD". Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooowwwwwwwwwwww!! Waaaaaahhhhhhhhh!! Waaaaaahhhhhhhh! Quote
WookieeJedi Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Second one sucked for sure. I got jammed up really bad in the palm of my hand like that. I was only 16, and boated a 6 lb stiper on a pencil popper. He was still fresh and bucked while I was unhooking him. Left me stuck with the hooks in my hand attached to a flopping fish. No snatching those big trebles out, we had to cut the skin. Youthful exuberance took a pretty big hit that day. Quote
"BRB" Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Wow! That sucks! But he took it a lot better then I would I think. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 6, 2012 Super User Posted April 6, 2012 So those KVD trebles really do hold pretty darn good then . . . Ouch ! A-Jay Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 6, 2012 Super User Posted April 6, 2012 KVD hooks another big one! Quote
outdoorsman110 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I got a huge Gamakatsu single hook all the way through the tendon that connects your thumb to your index finger. I left it in there and kept fishing for the rest of the day. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 WHo do i want to pull out the trebles....KVD or Gary Klien....tough choice but i'd give the edge to KVD. Quote
bwell Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 How are they doing that? Someone should make a video on how to get a hook out of someone... It just looks like they are tying braid around the barb that went into the skin and pulling it straight out? If I ever have to do that I want to do it the right way and not mess someone up or myself by doing it the wrong way. Quote
Procious Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 That looked painful. I've been hooked with two points of a treble hook before. I/we decided to cut that points and run them through the skin and out the other side. It wasn't as easy as it sounds. They were so deep that just cutting the points was a challenge. We had to leave enough of the hook shank to be sure we could push it through the other side. First one wasn't bad, the second one was touch and go for a while. After it was all over I had some "snake bite" marks. Quote

I can't remember where I did see it , just google removing fishing hook. That should work. Quote
Brandon K. Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Thats hilarious that he blames the cameraman for the bite slowing down. Thats sucks though. Knocking on wood that hasn't happenned to me YET. Quote
ROCbass Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 The hooks being removed didn't really bother me. The part that skeeved me out the most was that they were putting their hands all over the dude's bloody arm without gloves on. I'll gut deer without gloves all day long and it doesn't bother me one bit, but when it comes to touching another person's blood there's no such thing as being too careful IMO. I'm surprised none of those guys had gloves in their boat's first aid kit. Quote
fadetoblack21 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 The only time I've ever been hooked was right in the side of the neck. Needless to say I went to the ER to get that one removed. If I ever was in a situation where I could possible do this I still don't think I would. That looks like it had to hurt coming out. . . Quote
