  1. I am looking at getting a CASTING rod and reel for light baits. I want something like a medium power, fast\extra fast action. Like i said it's for light baits like finesse jigs, weightless flukes, and weightless or SLIGHTLY weighted sencos. I REALLY like the looks of the Megabass Levante series rods. The only problem is that they don't have a rod that exactly fits the bill for what I'm looking for... The "Extreme Mission Type F" seems like it would maybe work, but I wanted to hear some input from you guys. What do you think? will the Extreme Mission Type F be what i'm looking for? or is there another model in the Levante line that would work? Or should I look at other options... Thanks for your help as always!!
  2. Hello everyone, I got a kind of tricky question. I'm looking to get a finesse spinning rod to use with Drop Shotting, weightless senkos, shacky head, wacky rig, etc.(targetting LMB and Small Mouth) I know that it's best to have two different rods for said aplications but I can't afford two different rods. With that being said what would you guys recommend for a good all around finesse rod? (Price<$150)
  3. What is your hook of choice? Straight or EWG? And size?
  4. I've been fishing with senkos a lot lately and really am loving them and my favorite rig so far is weightless Texas rig. This is about my senkos but applies to any Texas rig. When you skin hook the bait for a seedless set up, pretty much after the first bite the hook rips through and I can't get it back into the now roped bait. I might be doing something wrong but how can I make these baits last longer because a pack of senkos are decently expensive and my favorite color of anything around here is chartreuse and I have to drive an hour to buy chartreuse senkos, Thank ya'll for the help!
  5. Hey Folks, I am considering restringing my spinning outfits. I run a charter in South Florida, targetting mostly Largemouth in the Everglades, however I do run a lot of Peacock Bass trips. I have traditionally been using Mono around the 10-15lb weight class. I have also experimented with co-polymers (flourocarbon coated mono). The bass get big down here, and i often deal with pretty heavy cover and structure. Also my peacock trips are primarily utelizing live shiners. These monster peacocks and clownknive fish are snapping through the mon and copolymer lines way to quickly for my liking. I am thinking of switching my reels to braid, maybe flouro leaders too. I will break down my primary uses of spinning gear in hopes you all and your vast knowledge can offer some advice on which line or combo of line, would best suit my methods. Topwater plugs, like torpedoes, poppers etc - mono 10-12 lbs because it floats and I like the strretch for those bass that chase, inhale and keep running.... weightless soft plastics, like flukes and stick baits (senko style) -also mono 10-12lb for the stretch again, i think it allows me to give the lures more action with a softer feel (if that makes sense).... Live shiners for peacock and clown knive fish (strong fighters that can reach 15 pounds) -pline copolymer (flourocoated mono) 15lbs - well because i thought it may be stronger and still not visible.... I have 4 outfits tgo restring, any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks folks!
  6. I have recently started to venture into the grass. The lakes up here have a ton of milfoil and other miscellaneous grass so I have to adapt. Hardly any wood at all. I have been caching fish flipping t-rigged structure bugs and 1/2 oz jigs. I have been wanting to dedicated some time into weightless senkos, weightless flukes, and weightless finesse worms. I feel my set up isn't optimal. I have the casting St. Croix Mojo 7' MH that i have been using. Its paired with p-line cxxx in 15lb. The light lure makes the line stay super coiled and hard to really feel confident that I am seeing/feeling bites. What would be a better line/rod in this situation? Should I drop to a M and lighter line or is it the line itself? I would like to explore a different brand of line for sure. Any advice or experience is appreciated.
