Hey BR,
Recently uploaded a trip to a local lake where I went out in a prefrontal weather situation. Hadn’t been to that lake in a while and wanted to see what patterns and presentations worked best. Hope you like it! Thanks for watching! JN

Hey guys, if you could only fish one day out of this week, based on this weather pattern which day would you fish and why? What baits/lures would you use?? I was thinking Friday because it seems like it’s on the end of a 3 day warming trend. Maybe I’ll parallel some primary or secondary points where deep water is close to shallow water. Maybe throw some cranks or jigs depending on water clarity.
FYI: we’ve been averaging around 40° days so this 70° weather coming up will hopefully get them stirred up.
I've been planning my weekend fishing adventures the last few days, and I see the winds are going to be about 15 mph on one of my lakes at one point this weekend. I plan to give it a shot, planning to fish from the side of the lake where the wind is coming from - it's usually pretty good fishing down there - and I think I can stay safe from the wind.
When looking at the forecasts before you guys plan a trip - what is the threshold for wind before you pull the plug on the trip and cancel your plans?
I'm having a hard time finding some info on fishing before warm fronts. It's been pretty mild and very cold (20-40 degrees) the last few days. Very windy two days ago. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain almost all day but it's going to get up to 60 degrees. Will the water still be too cold? Should I even give it a try? If I should go out what should I use?
I have added a picture of the forecast for tomorrow morning. Thanks so much!
I do not know much about how fish react to storms and low pressure systems...so here I am to learn! Please feel free to share any experiences, good times, bad times, or lessons learned when fishing before, during, and after storms! All advice and tips are appreciated! Stay safe, and tight lines!
Hey all,
I've read a lot with regards to bass fishing but I haven't done nearly as much research into other species. I am planning on going fishing this weekend though for Northern Pike and perhaps some Perch since the Bass season has yet to open.
It got me wondering, do weather patterns and moon phases affect these species in similar ways as bass?
I know asking this is going to sound bad because all other states lakes are frozen over, but anyway in San Jose California it's been the driest and warmest winter in decades averaging out around 70 air temperature and it's been affecting the bass's willingness to feed. It's been hard to get a bite in this awkward temperature for this time of year. Because the bass think its winter but it really is more like spring so what I'm really asking is how can it locate fish easily and what lures should I use.
Thank you,
Anything helps
Ps sorry for bad punctuation I'm doing this on my phone
Hey guys, I live in northern WI. Temps are already starting to drop. I was wondering what your favorite fall lure/bait is. I primarily fish from shore.
I am wondering for your go to lure as water temps drop for September, October, and into November?
Thanks in advance
I am quite cleless as to which is better for bass. I have never understood why a tight wiggle action crankbait could be more effection than the alternative and so I throw quite a few stickbaits. Which is better for what situation and why
I personally love weed beds in summer, and logs/blowdowns in spring. Rocks are great in early morning and anytime during spring due to their absorbtion of warmth/radiation. when it comes to choosing in summer between weed beds and logs, indecision reigns. What about you? what cover do you favor based on weather and time of year.
Due to my ability to use common sense I quite enjoy topwater fishing, but I've always been confused as to which lures are better for what conditions. When is it better to toss out a skitterpop vs a zara spook (my favs) or a buzzbiat instead of a rebel pop r or skitterprop or other propeller bait. S.O.S.
Thank in advance
Hey Y'all
I fish smallies on a small lake. It becomes difficult when it is very hot in the middle of the day and I don't have a depth finder to find good deep water structure or bait fish.
Any tips?
