  1. I was reading on some older forums about people using Dawn Dish Soap to degrease and clean the insides since it’s safe in plastics/ degreases, but i read that people said to use non-detergent ones? And is Dawn safe on magnetic brakes? And if i’m not mistaken for magnetic brakes you don’t oil or anything (just keep clean and dry) since it uses pulls of the magnetic and nothing rubs? Overall, is it okay/ good to use Dawn and does anyone use it for cleaning?
  2. I have recently bought a 10ft plastic boat. I got it for extremely cheap and when I got home I discovered duct tape on the front. The hole is very small and seems possible to fix but I have no experience in this topic. I attached a photo of the damage. What would be my best bet in fixing this if it’s possible. I have some marine hoop laying around and have also gotten advice to bondo it.. would either of these work or is there something else to try? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
  3. I was wondering if when using a wacky rig in deeper water if i need to keep the bail open and let line out or if i can just close it as soon as it hits the water like normal. Sorry if this is a stupid question but im just curious as i have gotten fish in deeper water but at that time i was just letting sit at the bottom like live bait and now i cast it and watch slack to see if fish starts running with it
  4. We have had a ton of rain the last 2 weeks with more forecasted next week so most of our local spots are dealing with significant flooding. What type of lure would you recommend for VERY muddy flooded waters?

  6. Water everywhere is dirty and pads and grass showing up. Whats your go to lures and how fish this dirty water
  7. How do I remove the water from the hull. It got in through cracks that also need repair. I am looking for information on both problems. This boat is commonly referred to as a 2 man bass boat. Thank you.
  8. I'm fishing a new pond today, (very small) and the whole shoreline is covered in weeds, trees, etc. (a lot of vertical weed cover in the water by the shorelines in some places) How should I fish this type of cover? Would a texas rig be a good choice? Also, should I flip and pitch, or cast?
  9. I have a Bass Hound 10.2 and I've got water INSIDE the boat. Anyone else have this problem?! If so, how do I get it out and keep this from happening?!
  10. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had a private pond or knows of any ponds near Macon that I could fish today?
  11. When using water temperature to determine current seasonal behavior, is that surface water temp or temp down where the fish are? If the temp I need to know is down where they are, how do we get that? thank you for all the help!
  12. So I was fishing today with my booyah pad crasher in sun burnt color and I lost it and need to replace it. So I'm looking at one of three brands, another booyah pad crasher (did well before but on a lot of bites it seemed like the fish didn't commit), the strike King KVD frog, or a live target frog. Any advice and opinions?
  13. I am wondering how I would catch largemouth bass in pretty shallow brownish green water with rocks and some weeds. It is at the end of a cove in Lake Anna in Virginia.
  14. Today I caught my first striper ever. It wasn't a huge fish, only about 2-3 lbs. But while unhooking him hooked my index finger with a treble hook (for the first time as well) from the lure past the barb. Pulled it out, and caught two more stripers. It was a good day.

  16. ok guys i need a little help here, what colour or visibility would you say this water is? this was taken in late september the ledge you see is roughly 3'-5' below the surface
  17. Today I decided to try microfishing. What a fun! I chought about 25-30 fish! Sure, as the name "microfishing" suggests it's not a huge fish but it's a lot of fun. Here are few of the fish I couldn't identify. Who knows what species are these?
  18. Wow! I can only guess what it takes to land fish like this! http://www.anglersmail.co.uk/news/world-carp-record-rises-to-105-lb-56992
  19. Greetings from Nebraska. Due to the 11"of rain that fell overnight a couple of days ago, our water quality has the consistency of concentrated chocolate milk. I realize this is a temporary problem, but, how does one go about fishing with these conditions? Yesterday, water viability was less than 1". Am I wasting my time?
  20. Where can I find current River temps online?
  21. I am a bank fisherman and I am guilty of believing that the pond I fish at has nice clear water. When in reality, I might have 3 feet of visibility from the bank down into some large rocks. I recently found another pond even closer to my house that has at least 6 feet visibility. I do not have any polarized lenses yet, and I soon hope to change that. I literally started jig fishing yesterday, and have yet to catch one. I went in the 6 foot visibility lake and used a nice brown and orange jig with natural craw trailer. My question is, should I use lures more geared for murky water or clear water? Also, how can I become a better judge on how clear/murky water truly is.
  22. Hey everyone, I recently pulled out the fishing rod and tackle box and headed to a few local ponds in the area. I tried just about everything - topwater frogs, crankbaits, wacky rigged worms, live worms, etc. and didn't catch a single bass. I caught a couple sunfish but that's not what I'm aiming for. I was wondering what the best way to fish in this coldish (55-70 degree fahrenheit) is/what the best lures and baits are. I'm mainly fishing small ponds about 30 minutes north of Boston and don't own a boat. Any information helps, and thanks a lot for reading! Brian
  23. DUMB QUESTION OF THE DAY, ok so i have never owned a "real boat" before. i have only had jon boats and kayaks, but in a trade recently i got a 15 foot sportscraft made in 1971 with a mercury 650 on it. now my question is when i look at the stern of the boat under the outboard there is two holes one on top and one on the bottom about 4 inches apart. i understand one is the ballast (i dont know which one). now the boat didnt come with a plug so i had to buy one. it only fits in the top hole. ok understandable, so the bottom must be the ballast, Right? now where i got confused is when it rained the other day and the boat filled with water it started to poor out of the bottom hole when i lifted the front of the trailer off the ground... i dont know im confused. i feel that if i put it in the water that it will fill with water and sink. please help. im a beginner.
  24. I'm looking to start fly fishing, but all the waters I have to fish at are really murky. Will it still work?
  25. Hey!!! So with all this rain we have gotten, in south Florida, water height has risen, causing certain parts of the lake to flow. This in turn has caused the fishing to be a bit more difficult. To fight this I've been fishing shallow covered waters with no current. I'm just wondering what other people are doing. Thanks for the info!!!
