  1. Anybody from Virginia, North Caroline, or South Carolina fish during that ice storm on the 16th? I tried going out during the storm to try my 68 Huddleston wedge tail swimbait for the first time. I got my one and only strike first cast, but I missed her. I'd appreciate any tips for fishing during cold months/winter fronts.
  2. Any fisherman/ ladies interested in joining a bass fishing club in and/or around Augusta county, Virginia don’t hesitate to email me at knicelychris@gmail.com. Serious inquiries only

Hello, I am looking to join a bass club In the northern virigina area. I usually fish the potomac area. Are there any local bass clubs in the area?
  5. I am new to this site. Never joined one before. Saw a couple articles of people who needed help with a few tips so I joined to answer their questions. I have been fishing my whole life, neither parent was into fishing or hunting. One Christmas when I was 4 my dad said I asked for a fishing pole, and since then he couldn't get me to put it down. My last name is Bass, and yes that is my real last name. No one ever taught me how to fish or hunt, I just started and never stopped. Now people from North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland call me for advice on both. I love fishing & hunting, and always get my license for both in North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia. I was looking for a site to discussed fishing, exchange tips when need be, and maybe meet some new people.
  6. Have anyone catch any crappie from the shore at the swift creek reservoir? If yes, what you use? josh tim
  7. Just wondering if anyone on here fished LOW at all? My parents have a house down there and I fish down there maybe 10-12 times a year.
  8. Greetings! I'm a new member recently moved from Boston, MA to washington D.C. and I'm looking to gather information on lakes/pond in D.C, Maryland, and Virginia that I could fish Smallmouth/Largemouth bass from the shore and is too far from D.C. I'm also looking for convenient bait shops near me or fishing spots. Any places y'all can point me to would be greatly appreciated, I plan to go fishing fishing tomorrow or at least explore some of the surrounding area.
  9. Yesterday my friend Facebook me about a pond on Southlake Blvd beside Napa Auto Parts. He said that a guy landed a 10 pound BASS! So I marked the location on Google maps then asked my dad to drive me there, but he was unsure that it was public. The pond was behind some businesses. So you had to park at one of the buildings to access the pond, but they don't really care. So we parked at some real estate place. Once I got there I saw geese poop everywhere...yuck! But that's the only horrible thing about this pond. You can almost walk around the pond. Also, there was some lay-downs to fish and you can skip chatterbaits under trees that hang over the water! To left of that peninsula, the water is very deep..i think it holds catfish I saw some bass eating dragonflies so threw a strike king rage tail toad. The first cast I got a 17 inch bass. 30 minutes with no luck so I changed to a fluke. I cast it out there about 10 times. While I was twitching it back, out of nowhere a bass smashed it about 3 feet away from me. It scared the crap out of me then I started to scream like a girl lol The bass was about 18 inches. Unfortunately, I have only 1 hour to fish :/ So i left. Water Temp: 80 Air Temp: 84 Lure: Rage Tail Toad and Fluke Time of day: Evening -josh

  12. I'm not from the US so I have no idea how this works and I didn't find any info about this elsewhere: can I fish in Virginia and bring a fish to Washington D.C. (for example to cook)? How does the regulation work? Thank you!
  13. Hey, I'm headed down to VA to fish the "chick" river next week and was wondering what I should be looking for to locate some decent bass this time of year. I'm an experienced bass guy so throw any ideas at me. Also is going out to the James worth it? I never been there and would appreciate and help to make my week a little more fishy.
  14. I just saw this on WTOP.com: Caleb Newton, who lives in Spotsylvania County, Va., holds Monday June 3, 2013, the 17 pound 6 ounce northern snakehead fish that he caught in Aquia Creek in Virginia. He has filed paperwork with the International Game Fish Association to have the fish registered as a world-record catch.
