    Hey guys, I am trying my hand at cleaning and lubricating my reels and I am having trouble with one in particular. It is an older browning midas, Model number MI1000HL. I can't get the handle off and I also can't get the spool out. I got the side plate off and the spool comes out a little but not all the way. There is also no nut or cover or anything on the handle loke other reels. here is a picture of the model I am working with. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

    Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster. I know that how freely or fast a bearing spins doesn't necessarily equate to a "smooth" feeling retrieve, but that being said, why do my Pfluegers (XT) knobs spin so much faster and more easily than my Daiwa (Tatula LT, Regal LT) knobs? In case you're wondering, I took out the bushings in the Tatula and replaced them with quality ABEC3 bearings (and noticed absolutely no difference). I'm having fun playing with reels and just want to learn more; I know there may be no practical benefit to knowing the answer.

    Are their some crankbaits that never need tuning? I have a crush 50x squarebill crankbait, that I've beat the hell out of, and it still runs true a year in. Are newer crankbaits more durable, and hold their factory tune better perhaps?

    Hey guys, I have a quick question regarding tuning crankbaits. Is tuning a crankbait, as prevalent as it once was, 10 years ago? I've fishing a lot of crankbaits recently over the past few years and I can't say that i've ever had a crankbait come out of the box out of tune, or have had a crankbait go out of tune while I was fishing it. For brands, I use Rapala and 6th sense, which I suppose are upper echelon lures. Present day, are crankbait manufactures getting better at tuning their crankbaits and keeping them in tune? I would love to get some insight on this. Thanks guys, Cam
