I’m debating on switching out the O split rings on my my crank baits (at the line tie) to snaps, and the regular round-bend treblehooks to EWG style hooks. What are the pros and cons to this, I’m very new to crankbait fishing customizing and could use some help. I am normally a soft plastic, Chatterbait, and Spinnerbait guy. Just decided to dive in to crankbaits this past year, and even though I’ve caught some fine, I’m wanting to tinker and catch more.
Was shopping and browsed the clearance section and saw assortment of sizes of Trokar hooks $2 a pack. These are normally $6.96 I bought five packs got all sizes. This is at Derby KS Walmart still had the packs left so if anyone needs some good quality hooks check it out
My girlfriend caught this 6 pound bass at my buddy's private lake. She was flipping the reaction innovations sweet beaver in magic Craw color. She was flipping it on my 6'8" Field and Stream Tec Spec Elite (Great rods)MH rod and Shimano Stradic 2500 FJ and using 10 lb test Seaguar Red Label. Casting up near the shoreline, she was bumping it across a weed bed and smoked it when she saw it. Awesome catch one of my favorite memories of our trip. Although, she was mad at me for not letting her mount it, She'll catch a bigger one soon no doubt.
