Greetings Anglers!
Looking to give regular Daiwa Tatula rods (not the elites) a try... as my budget doesn't allow for anything more expensive, and nowadays you can pick them up for between $105 - $140 depending where you shop. I've heard nothing but good reviews on them.
Reaching out to anyone who has owned any combination of the following three Tatula models:
TAT721HFB ("Trigger Rod") | 7'2" Heavy Fast (3/8 - 1.5oz)
TAT741HFB ("Frog Rod") | 7'4" Heavy Fast (1/2 - 2oz) <--- Why is this one rated higher, is it a beefier stick?
TAT761HFB ("Flipping Rod")| 7'6" Heavy Fast (3/8 - 1.5oz)
What I'm most curious about, is if all three of these are truly equally Heavy-Fast blanks, or if there is any difference between the three? I noticed the 7'4" Frog rod is rated up to 2oz, as opposed to 1.5oz of both the shorter and longer models listed above. So is it beefier? And if all three have the same action at the tip.
I'll most likely be punching with this first Tatula, and personally like a punching rod to have both a backbone but also a little bend in the tip so that I don't blow the fish's mouth open.
Thanks for any help!!
