    Hey everyone! I have a strange jig here.. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of jig it is? The head looks almost like a swimjig but with that the jig does not have an eye to tie to. The line feeds thru the jig head and out the bottom of it. What kind of knot would you use or would you put like a swivel at the bottom to prevent the knot from coming thru the hole? Anyways thanks for any help you are able to offer..

    Hey guys, looking to make an upgrade in my lineup and wanted to hear some recommendations. I'm looking for a new all purpose work horse (mostly light jigging, Texas rigs, swim jigs, worming). Budget is sub $200 and I'd like to stay at or under 7'3". I'm envisioning a MH/F but open to discussion. Some rods I'm considering: Diawa Tatula, Shimano Zodius, Dobyns Fury, G. Loomis E6X, St. Croix Bass-X. Looking for a MH/F with a really good parabolic. Anyone with experience with any of these, some insight would be greatly appreciated. The rest of the rod lineup in below. Thanks! Ready...GO! ? - St. Croix Mojo 7'1" M/F (Finesse, Ned, Dropshot) - Dobyns Fury 7'0" MH/MF (Reaction, Jerk, Lipless, Shallow Crank, Squarebill) - ??? - Okuma TCS 7'3" H/F (Heavy Jig, Flipping, Frog, Small Swimbait) - Lew's TP-1 7'3" MH/M (Deep Crank)

    I'm looking into getting a new setup for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and other open hook moving baits. So far I've narrowed it down to two rods and thee reels. The rods are the Daiwa Tatula XT cranking rods in a 7' MH reg. glass rod, and a Denali Jadewood J2 7' MH mod. I don't know much about glass rods, any tips or advice? The reels are the Lews Speed Spool LFS, the Lews Mach I Speed Spool, and the Shimano Casitas 150. I notice the Mach I weighs half an ounce more, yet has a deeper spool, whereas the Casitas has less line capacity than both reels. Any thoughts on what to get or anything about the equipment? Thank you.

    I know this is a very general question but what has been your overall most productive style of retrieve (speed, pauses, jerks, etc) with these different baits on pressured waters? 1. Spinnerbait 2. Crankbait 3. Lipless crankbait 4. Glide bait 5. Swimjig 6. Wakebait

    $150 bucks? Im hunting more of a swimjig specific, maybe 80/20 action, rod for swimming a jig. I'd be fishing a good amount of vegitation like hydrilla, pad/pad stems, etc but feel my current rod I use is to short (6'10") and too heavy. IDEALLY....I'd love to find good rod, with the power and action, to also frog and toss a spinnerbait, but still be a solid swim jig rod. Any help is greatly appreciated...TIA and tight lines

    Hello all! BPS sent me the wrong swim jigs. I have the colors and sizes I want but the swim jigs have rattles. The brand of swim jig is KVD heavy cover. I'm curious if it's worth keeping rattles or cut them off. It's going to take too long to return before a much anticipated fishing trip, so that's not much of a choice. I'll be fishing mostly clear lakes that have a lot of grass and cover which I'll be throwing parallel to cover and grass and using swim jig to sink to the bottom then slow retrieve. Thanks for for the help! TIght lines. ~ FF

    Hey guys I got my new rod, imx mh/f and want to try out some new stuff and see what the rod is capable of. I used a few swimjigs before but really I just grabbed crap off of the shelves at Dicks and stuck it together and said voila swimjig done.So heres what im fishing in, the water at its deepest goes about 12' and is green tinted not very clear at all and tons of veggie on the bottom. The lake has tons of bass lots of smalls and a few large here and there and then there are those d**n pickerels. Even though there are craws in my area I have never seen one craw in my lake. Dont want to go above 3/4 oz. I seem to have the most catches with chartreuse and black with another dark color combo(black/purple or black/blue). So what do you experienced swimjiggers recommend? Also when you recommend something if you could give brief explanations on how to work the bait or why you chose that swimjig/trailer would be great.Thanks if you answer.Any additional info needed let me know.
