  2. Hello everyone. Brand new at fishing and brand new at kayaking. Just got a tarpon 100 and a cheap rod and reel from bass pro shops and went to a local reservoir and caught some largemouth and smallmouth. anyone know of any local ponds close to the modesto, CA area? we have large reservoirs here like Woodward, Modesto and Turlock but they're all hard to navigate on a kayak. I don't come from a fishing family my folks never fished I'm learning as I go. by the way, very thankfull for the articles I have read here all very informative and extremely helpful. thanks.
