  1. Any try these gas lifts for hatches on your boat? https://www.homedepot.com/p/100N-22-lbs-Cabinet-Door-Lift-Support-Gas-Spring-Gas-Shock-Lid-Support-with-Installation-Screws-1-Pair-GAS-1/312639194?mtc=Shopping-VF-F_D25H-G-D25H-Multi-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA-NA-NA-GiftCenter&cm_mmc=Shopping-VF-F_D25H-G-D25H-Multi-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA-NA-NA-GiftCenter-71700000075416916-58700006462680269-92700058409314530&gclid=f9081a3be51615c579c645d0afb85bcc&gclsrc=3p.ds&msclkid=f9081a3be51615c579c645d0afb85bcc
  2. Taking some of the suggestions on terminal tackle storage from the forum, I opted for a Plano Edge Thin 3700 box. Did this take me an entire evening? Yes. Did I have to peel off, rewrite, and reposition each label so they were near perfectly straight? Yes. Did I enjoy every moment of it? Also yes. Does anybody enjoy the preparation and organization part of fishing almost as much as the fishing itself?
  3. In this video I share how I have stored my Rodents (beaver style baits), Shimmie Sticks or Ochos and why for years while competing on Tour. Thank you for watching! James N.
  4. I am stuck in limbo again about fiberglass vs Aluminum. I believe I am stuck with Aluminum as I will need to store the boat outside during winter her ein the Midwest. Does storing a fiberglass boat outdoors winterized fully covered and protected as much as possible have any negative impact on the integrity of the boat? I am not worried about oxidation as I can fix that.
  5. I was wondering if I should get a Plano Guide Series 3700 Tackle Bag to carry my stuff. I think it would be good because it would allow me to carry 6 3700 boxes, so I could have several fishing techniques, 1 for each box, and has plenty of storage for plastics too. But I feel like it might be a bit to big to fit in a kayak, so I’m also wondering how much storage the 3600 size of this bag provides also and if it would be a good bag to get.
  6. okay so the season is close to opening up here and i am really looking at how i store things in my boat. i have a 14X36 V jon boat and currently i keep everything in my 2 duffle bags which consist of 10 regular 3700'S 2 deep 3700's and 1 regular 3600 and a few other bags of soft plastics and clam shells of swimbaits. my question is how do you guys organize your tackle in a smaller boat i am exploring the idea of basically having a footlocker with all of my trays in it but i am still kind of lost as far as the soft plastics go
  7. Googled all over the web and I can't find an answer to this simple question. Which is considered a more high-end box, Plano Elite or Plano Prolatch Stowaway boxes? I simply want the most durable. Their website does not make a clear distinction and their nomenclature of 'pro' and 'elite' in the product names is also confusing. Further confusing is why they appear to show boxes with an Elite-style latch on the Prolatch page: http://www.planomolding.com/fishing/stowaway-utility-boxes/prolatch-stowaway-utility-boxes, yet the Elite boxes have their own dedicated page here. http://www.planomolding.com/fishing/plano-elite-systems/plano-elite-organizers Plano if you're listening, can you improve the differentiation between your products through a description and/or better navigation links on your website please? Thanks.
  8. the silica gel packages that come with shoes to control moisture (little white package with small balls in it.... is there a better way to describe that?) has any one ever tried putting these packages in with their hooks to try and prevent rust? just a thought i had
  9. So I don't go out in a boat often, but fish off shore almost every single day in the summer. Not exaggerating either! Anyway, I went from a tackle box, to a bag and now looking at the backpacks, That being said, I saw a few and wanted some help in choosing the right one! I am sure people own them or have had a chance to compare some. The four I have seen and narrowed it down to are as follows: 1. the Nomad Wild river by clc 2. The cabela's advanced angler backpack 3. the shimano blackmoon 4 and the tackle warehouse one, which name escapes me as I type this I have a tackle bag now, its I think a plano 3700 in mossy oak colors. I do like it but I find myself needing another bag just to carry other things. I do not have a lot of gear but enough to fill 4 3700's. The only thing keeping me from just buying one is they are so drastic in price! I would LOVE to have a rod holder on the side, which some do, but the Nomad has more space. Oh whats a fisherman to do! Help me out!
  10. Hey BassResource, What kind of storage are you guys utilizing for your bucktail jigs?
  11. For a long time, I've been keeping most of soft plastic bags in my Plano tackle bag, which has a clear compartment underneath the main flap. It holds about 20 bags of plastics. However, I'm getting more soft plastics than the bag can hold. I'm looking into get the lews boat bag and putting my bags in a couple of big Plano utility boxs and storing the boxs in the boat bag. Just curious on what size utility box you all use or how you store your plastics. Thanks guys!
  12. I haven't found a storage system I like yet for my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Enlighten me BassResource.com gurus. What do you like?
  13. I've started making jigs recently and have read on a ton of places that ones with rubber have the potential to become damaged or ruined due to the possibility that any rubber used in them may melt under certain conditions. I'm aware of storing the jigs or the rubber with unscented talc. However, unscented talc has been difficult to find. So, does anyone have any suggestions on possible brands of unscented talc and places that it is easy to find? Also, are there other alternatives that can be used when storing rubber and/or jigs made with rubber?
  14. I am stumped with a pressing issue and I am hoping someone has a suggestion. I have a amassed a healthy amount of fishing gear. This gear is kept at a family cabin. I am looking for a way to lock my stuff up in our shed while I am not there. I am most concerned with my dozen or so rods. After weeks and weeks of searching, I have found nothing to lock-up and store rods and reels. Tackle will be stored in rubbermaid type box with a lock. Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance for the help! FF
  15. Ordered a whole bunch of North Star Jigs recently (can't wait to get 'em in!) and was going through my jig box. I'm not entirely happy with the way I store them now, just in individual dividers in a typical Plano style box. I can't really see the head or the skirt color all that well. How do you store your jigs? Anyone doing anything novel? A few ideas I had were to get foam strips and stick them in a row along the foam strips. I tested the idea on cardboard and I liked the visibility to see each jig properly. I didn't find any novel containers made by plano or flambeu. Any thoughts?
  16. Where to start? About 3 years ago I received a hummingbird tackle bag with the purchase of my depth finder. I used this bag for all of my soft plastic baits (75 bags +) it was packed, but i knew where everything was. Last season I ripped a hole in it being careless. I am on the market now for a new bag to use for a similar application, but cannot find a soft plastic bag that will work. I am not a fan of hard storage box for my plastic I feel like they may dry out my baits. From what I am gathering the only other option are these binders. I believe that would require me to transfer my baits from the bag they come in to another binder bag. What are you using to store you soft plastic baits? What would work the best? Jay-
  17. Brethren of the bass, I have the hardest time with keeping my equipment straight, and untangled while on the water and off. How do you maintain your outfits during your trip, particularly those of you that have limited space? Do you guys keep your lures on your various rods hanging out over the water as you're going along, or do you only ready one at a time as necessary and make sure the one you were using is secured before picking up another? Also, I have a terrible time with hook keepers on the rod, and have one rod without them. The lures are always falling out of the hook keepers and getting tangled, and I don't want to put too much strain bending the rod. Thanks.
