  1. Hello everyone, I'm a first time boat owner and I have to buy a new trolling motor for my boat. Is it possible to buy a trolling motor with the "Spot Lock" ability without having to dump another $3 grand on an Ultrex? The company/ brand isn't that important to me... I just want to know what kind of trolling motor models are out there that can do the spot lock thing, and those that are perhaps cheaper (ie Motor Guide). I know the Ultrex does, Im pretty sure theres a "power drive 2" from minn kota does as well but that also seems top of the line... What about a Fortrex? Can a minn kota edge do spot lock? Thanks for clarifying
  2. So I'm going to lake benbrooke in Fort Worth, and I can only shore fish. I believe that it's a rocky beach all the way around so there isn't a any like grass or reeds that I can cast into. I also think it has a rocky surface below. There is also a large dam that you can get next too. Anyone know where I should fish, and jig, rigs, or bait I should use
  3. I made a post before talking about how I found a pond near my house and tried it out to see what it was like. I couldn't upload pics for some reason. So here is an updated post with a link of the pictures. I was using a 1$ spinner from Walmart and caught my biggest bass which was a 9lb and then a 7lb 10 mins later. http://imgur.com/a/a6EHc
  4. Hey this is my first forum post but I have a few questions to hopefully start a discussion on spring froggin. Let's hear your opinion on any or all of these questions! What water temp/month do you start to throw a frog in your part of the country? What is your favorite frog? What colors do you like for each type of cover and water clarity? Does wind effect frog fishing? Do sky conditions play a role in froggin? What speed and types of retrieves do you use for spring frogging? What rod, reel, and line, do you use? Are there any specific types of cover that should be targeted during the spring? Does the size of the frog matter? What are your opinions on Buzz Frogs like the Snagproof Bobby's Perfect Buzz, or a Rage Tail type frog? Opinions on popping frogs? Thanks! Trawick Ellis http://goo.gl/gNPXpv
  5. Lets talk about North Georgia Bass Fishing. Blue Ridge Lake Carters Lake Lake Lanier Lake Allatoona Lake Nottley Techniques, Fishing reports, and Fishing stories. If I left your favorite North Georgia fishery out, add it to the conversation!
  6. I recently won a bunch of old Cordell Spots on EBay and when I got them I realized that I inherited an abandoned mod project. The guy drilled holes, dumped the BB's out, never patched the holes and stopped there. I wanted to put some BB's back in and seal the hole, but I'm not sure how many BB's normally go into these things. I have 2 1/2 and 3 inch Spots and thought that I could add enough BB's til the 2 1/2 inchers come up to 1/4 oz and the 3 inchers come up to a half oz, but that is a lot of BB's and I'm also not sure if I would have the hooks on them when I weigh them. I realize I should just buy new ones, but now I feel married to the idea of getting these things up and running again. Any help would be appreciated
