  1. Need to know what settings there are on a Diawa Goldcast 210 and how should they be set?
  2. Thanks in advance for the help, and my apologies for being such a beginner. I have started seriously fishing for the first time this year and purchased a spinning reel as I have always had that style. My buddy got his license, and needed a rod. He said he wanted a close faced spincast style reel. I purchased him a Zebco, and took him out to a open pond. We spent about an hour and a half fishing, and TWICE the line twist around the bolt that keeps the top of the reel, not the cover, on. The cover had to be removed, then the metal inside cover had to be unscrewed. The line had to be untwisted from around the bolt in middle of the reel, or cut. Brand new reel, happened twice. Looking for some guidance on why this happened and how to avoid it. PS lucky **** caught 2 fish despite the issues. Lol David
  3. I really lucked out and i'll tell you why. My small town had a huge yard sale all over the place and i looked all around for fishing stuff i could get my hands on for free or not very much. I spent a total of 20$ and even got a few things for free. Brand new fishing stringer, Two brand new only used once medium spin casting combos "Not my kind of setup, But they'll work and i could always change it out for a bait caster reel and use them for bass or something." A seven foot fly fishing rod that can use up to #5/6 fly line and #4-10 line. "Could use this as a new rainbow trout/panfish/etc setup" A few tackle boxes for free and it came with old tools and lures/etc. Overall, I think i did good and am super excited to try these setups for the upcoming stocking of rainbow trouts. I think out of all the stuff i got the fly fishing rod has to be the coolest and i really want to learn how to use one and at least get one fish on it.
  4. I hope this isn't one of those topics that should be avoided - but for someone looking to upgrade from their old zebco 33/404 - what would be the next step? A baitcast? Primarily all the fishing I'm doing is gonna be bass and catfish from lakes/ponds with plastics primarily and good old stinky stuff for catfish. Or am I just as well suited with the spincast?
